Review Centre: Latin Jazz Bands

"The Hitchen Jazz quartet played for my Birthday Party in Summer 2018. We had a bigger budget, so I requested the quartet. They played a beautiful Jazz set for our apperatifs, which really made our day! Later that year, we went to watch the Hitchen Big Band play a live concert with World renowned Trumpet star Bobby Shew. David actually played some duets/trumpet battles with Bobby Shew, proving that David is able to perform on any stage. Merci les gars!"

"Sol Chango played at our wedding and made such beautiful music. We asked them to play instrumentally after the ceremony and it was just magical. They added a singer for their performance after the wedding dinner and they really got the crowd going. They were lovely to deal with and played such a great repertoire of timeless music. We loved having them! "

"I have had the pleasure of enjoying Girl Fridays music on a number of occasions. Great band and Michelle is a great vocalist, They have a great repertoire of music and certainly know how to entertain a large or small audience. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for some live music for your next event"

"Kasia & Gus played at our drinks reception and we received so many compliments about their performance from family and friends on the day. They are very easy to work with (we gave them some suggestions of the style of music we like and they expanded on it), and communication was very easy. Reliable, professional and just a lovely, happy pair to share a happy occasion with. Highly recommend."

"There’s a local connection to this marvellous presentation of Andalusian culture. Daniel Martinez studied flamenco guitar from the age of seven in his native Cordoba and played in the city’s tablaos before moving to the UK in 2015 and establishing his guitar school in Edinburgh. His flamenco troupe has two Scottish guitarists and one of this production’s pieces expresses the happiness Martinez has found in Scotland but the music and movement are undiluted Andalusia. The venue even obliged with Andalusian temperatures, making dancer Gabriela Pouso’s intense and astonishingly precise footwork all the more admirable. There’s music in Pouso’s feet and her close coordination with Martinez’ brilliantly nimble and massively colourful musicianship would have been worth the ticket price alone. That, though, would have robbed us of the fantastically expressive singing and the violinist's superb articulation with his bow. The concert began quietly, with Martinez playing alone, soulfully evoking a calm before the storm. And what a storm: three guitars in intricate partnership, violin and voices soaring as the singers added typically urgent and musical hand clapping and Pouso embodying the music’s vibrant physical presence. Bravo indeed."

With over 800 guests we needed to know we were in good hands, we needn’t have worried, from the very start they were really professional and everything was done with the guests in mind. "Here comes the sun... We wanted to surprise our guests for the vin d'honneur. We met Lutz and were immediately enthusiastic about the talent and professionalism of Jazzador. This part of the wedding took place outside and despite the rain and the cold, the quartet was able to put a wonderful sunshine in the hearts of the young and old by making everyone swing and delighting. A very high quality performance, a kindness and an availability out of the ordinary which made this moment a magic, exceptional and unforgettable moment."

"On the night Pete Billigton set the right atmosphere with his piano, leading up to a superb gig with Fleur Stevenson singing, accompanied by Pete and Raph Mizraki on the double bass. Fleur's voice is remarkable and the choice of pieces was most fitting. I was complimented by many friends about the music - some jazz players themselves. "
