Review Centre: Ceilidh Bands

"A few friends and I went to see Gaelforce at the Old Grocers in Pontefract on Friday. What a fantastic talented bunch of musicians these guys are. They delivered punchy folk rock songs, which are mostly their own with a few individual interpretations of some classics throughout the night. Brilliant stuff and highly entertaining. A great venue too, and cannot wait for them to return."

"I just want to say a BIG thank you for last Saturday. Dunstable Live was a huge success and that was in part due to your band. We had over 1000 people attend which as the weather was so horrendous was a surprise. But everyone left with smiles on their faces."

"We had such good feedback about your performance! Everyone that came had a great time and that’s definitely down to the superb music and also the very well-explained and inclusive calling. I honestly would not have believed that the majority of people dancing were new to ceilidh dancing from watching them, they all took to it really fast. "School Fundraiser Chichester "Thank you so much for making our Barn Dance on Friday night such a success! Great fun and great exercise!! The music was fantastic, we were all very impressed by your skills and your instruments, especially the funky violin!! "Bob Ferguson concert, 11. Sept. 2019 Our association organizes, among other things, traditional concerts, especially regional music of Low German culture. Scottish and Celtic music corresponds to this program much. Bob Ferguson gave us with his music insights and impressions into the everyday life of Scottish life. In his ballads, he sang about love, wanderlust, the landscape and the sea. He entertained the audience wonderfully, walked through the rows of spectators and encouraged everyone to sing along. The audience felt transported to the Highlands and Lowlands of Scotland and had this beautiful landscape in mind. We thank him for this great concert and we look forward to seeing him again in autumn 2020. "

"RockPipes absolutely ‘rocked’ a packed village hall on New Year’s Eve with their bagpipe-led band. Musically it seems an unlikely formula, but it totally works to give a real party and fun evening that went down really well. (Frenchay Community News following our Hogmanay Party 2022)"

"I've just want to say what a fantastic evening we had dancing at the Ceilidh. We were visiting Edinburgh for a special birthday on Burns night as I'd always wanted to celebrate it in Scotland. Though our kids / young adults (13 & 16) were the youngest there, we were all warmly welcomed. The music was great, the calling helped us get to grips with the dances, and the atmosphere was fantastic. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, thank you! Thanks again for an amazing night."
