Social events bring families and friends together and a barn dance or ceilidh is the perfect way to get them mixing and having fun. We are enjoy playing for dancing and we’d love to come and play for your event
Many of our bookings are for social gatherings like weddings birthdays anniversaries and family parties of one sort or another and we're very good at striking the balance between lively music to get everyone up and dancing and if required, quieter intervals so that your guests can catch their breath. Our caller will quickly gauge the level of ability and experience of your guests and will adjust the programme of dances accordingly so that everyone can relax and join in. He has a wide repertoire of dances from all over the UK and we have an extensive list of tunes to match them so whether your guests are young or old, experienced dancers or complete beginners there’ll be dances to please them all. If there are particular dances or tunes that you’d like included, let us know beforehand in case they’re not in our current repertoire.
When you book us you can rest easy knowing that we will arrive when we say we will, and set up quickly and efficiently. We’ll set the volume so that it’s loud enough for dancing, but not so loud that it prevents your guests from chatting. We'll come suitably dressed and ready to give our best for you and your guests. We take what we do very seriously and are professional in our approach, but our emphasis at your event is on fun and enjoyment for you and your guests.
The fee is £650 for a 3 piece band, (2 musicians playing fiddle and melodeon and the caller). It is a fixed price and includes travel, sound system and all that's needed for the evening. We have public liability insurance and all our equipment is PAT tested.
We like to arrive an hour before the start time to set up our equipment and do a sound check. It usually takes us about 20 minutes to pack away at the end. For a booking of up to 2 hours we can play without an interval but if it’s over 2 hours we need a break of 30 minutes about half way through.
Let me know if you'd like to talk through your plans and ideas. We appreciate that there are lots of things that have to come together when you're planning an event and so we're happy to hold a date for you while you sort things out. When you're ready you can make your booking well send you a contract to sign and return with a small deposit.

We have a wide range of tunes from all over the British Isles and beyond.
We have a small compact PA system. We'll need 2 power sockets and 3 armless chairs
It's helpful if we can park close to the venue for unloading so if you can save us a parking space near the door that would be great.
We bring our own PA and you're welcome to use it if you need to make announcements or speeches. If you have a playlist on an iPhone or iPad we can play it through our system during the break if you like.
We can play music from a playlist as mentioned above if required.

We can perform outside but we'll need an electricity supply for our sound system and it's best if there's cover, so perhaps a marquee or gazebo for shade in the summer or just in case it rains. You never can tell.
We have a wide ranging repertoire of tunes and dances so if you'd like particular items let us know and we'll include them. It's best to let us know well beforehand so that we can learn them if they're not on our current list
A lot of our previous clients have said at the end of the night that it was the best fun they've ever had.
