Mermaid performers are aquatic and poolside entertainers who use realistic silicone or fabric tails to create a costumed character experience. Most bookings are for events with a swimming pool, large aquarium or other suitable water feature; some performers also offer dry-land "land mermaid" appearances where they sit poolside or on a stage in costume to interact with guests.
The two formats to understand before booking: in-water performances (the performer swims, poses for photos and interacts with guests in or beside the pool) and dry appearances (the performer arrives in tail and costume for meet-and-greet, photos and storytelling without entering the water). In-water appearances need a private pool of suitable depth, calm conditions and a brief safety check; performers usually carry their own tails and props, and some bring their own changing setup. Confirm with the performer in advance whether your pool is suitable and how long the performer can safely remain in the water.
The strongest fits are pool parties, children's birthday parties (especially mermaid- or under-the-sea-themed), hotel and resort entertainment, aquarium events, and corporate brand activations with a tropical theme. Beach weddings book mermaid performers for photo opportunities and ceremony arrivals rather than swimming displays. For broader children's party programming, mermaid acts often pair with face painters, balloon twisters or princess characters.
Rates for mermaid performers range from $100 for a short dry appearance with photos to $480+ for a full in-water performance with multiple performers and props. The average sits at $250. Pricing depends on appearance length, whether the performer enters the water, travel distance and the complexity of the costume and tail. Acts that include certified swimming or freediving credentials for underwater work sit at the higher end of the range.
The average price for Mermaid Entertainment is $250 (USD). Above you will also find a budget price and high end price. Contact the supplier you like for an accurate quote.
