A tarot card reader gives guests a form of entertainment that is entirely personal: a few minutes one-on-one with the cards, dealt and interpreted just for them. Good event readers keep the tone light and inclusive, treating the reading as theatre rather than counselling, and guests who arrive sceptical often end up queueing for a second turn. Many readers work several disciplines, so if you want palm reading or a costumed fortune teller with a crystal ball as part of the act, ask when you enquire.
The format determines how many guests get a turn. Quick three-card draws take five to ten minutes each and suit drinks receptions where a steady queue forms, while a full Celtic cross spread runs closer to twenty and works better at smaller gatherings. As a rule of thumb, a reader gets through six to ten guests an hour with quick draws; for larger events, book two or more readers, or pair a reader with strolling magicians or caricaturists so guests always have something to do while they wait.
Private parties are the most common booking, with Halloween and New Year's Eve the busiest dates of the year, so reserve early for either. At wedding receptions a reader fills the gap between the meal and the evening entertainment, and readings double as a personal keepsake from the day. Corporate planners use tarot as an icebreaker: a reading gives strangers at a networking event something to talk about immediately. Tarot also anchors themed nights alongside mind readers and other psychic entertainment, or works as a quieter counterpoint to magicians covering the same room.
Fees run from $25 to $550+ depending on session length, guest numbers and how far the reader travels, with most event bookings around $150. Short appearances at the lower end usually cover an hour or two of quick readings, while all-evening bookings, costumed appearances and multi-reader teams sit above the average. Check what a quote includes before comparing: table and set dressing, arrival time and any limit on the number of readings are the usual variables.

Readings By Halliwell
"I cannot recommend a spirit guide reading with Deanna enough! I’ve had readings in the past, but none that made it FEEL like I was there with my guides. Deanna has such a magical way of channeling that is so visual it feels like you’re in a movie with her and your guides. The experience left me with a much deeper understanding of my guides and the individual roles they’re playing in my life. It’s also really helped my own channeling practice because I feel much more connected to them as individual entities. I can’t recommend this experience enough. It was such an amazing ride."
