About / Biography

Seattle's sonic architects, Goodtime Hustle, redefine musical boundaries with their electrifying fusion of alt-country, jam band, psychedelic rock, and folk influences. Fronted by the dynamic duo of Bud Weather's soulful vocals and Chris Denny's mesmerizing guitar work, the band, anchored by the rhythmic foundation of Michael Gagliardo on bass and Tom Lash on drums, stands as a beacon of innovation in the Pacific Northwest's thriving music scene.

Goodtime Hustle's sonic alchemy continues to unfold in their upcoming release, 'Big In Bangladesh,' a kaleidoscopic journey through themes of chaos and self-discovery. From the anthemic pulse of "Back To The One" to the introspective depths of "Those Were The Days," each track is a testament to the band's evolving artistry.

Honing their craft through high-energy performances at iconic Seattle venues like Substation and Slim’s Last Chance, Goodtime Hustle has become synonymous with an unparalleled live experience. Their improvisational prowess, magnetic stage presence, and infectious grooves leave audiences spellbound, forging an unbreakable connection between artist and listener.

"Big In Bangladesh," is set for release on March 1, 2024. Goodtime Hustle invites you to join them on a sonic odyssey that defies expectations and transcends musical conventions. Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

Audio Specifications
Goodtime Hustle is two guitars (Weather DSC and Chris SR), bass guitar (Michael SL), three vocals (both guitars and drums sing), and five piece drums (Tom USC). The band mixes their own powered monitors and performs without traditional guitar amplifiers onstage. We require a professional PA system with a minimum of 16 XLR inputs, a variety of microphones, cables, stands, onstage monitors, and a professional audio engineer. We are happy to provide these items if necessary. We can provide a stereo pair to your house PA with iPad control or to provide a 16 channel XLR split from our sources to your FOH console.

Space Requirements
The band requires a performance space 12 feet deep by 16 feet wide. We require a 2’x2’ area off stage left or right for our monitor system and amplifier rack (if required). In cases where we are providing the full PA we will require two additional 3’x3’ areas downstage left and downstage right for speaker stands as well as 5’x2’ area downstage center for the subwoofer. We do not require any audio equipment at front of house other than an iPad.

Audio Power
The band requires at minimum one (but preferably two) fifteen amp, 110 volt, dedicated power circuits for audio and stage power.

Transportation and Labor
Our basic monitor system ships from the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle in a 4’x4’x2’ stack and adds 32 cu/ft to our pack. An additional 32 cu/ft of equipment is required when we provide a full PA for an event. Our basic monitor system can be set by one person in 30 minutes, excluding sound check. The full PA generally takes a minimum of an hour for two people to load in, set up, and tune in a new space. Load out can be completed in 30 minutes using two people.

Audio Engineer
Goodtime Hustle requires a professional audio engineer. We are happy to use your engineer if you already have one for the event. If not, we will provide an engineer who is already familiar with our act and our audio requirements.

*These specifications are subject to modification as actual performance circumstances require.

Video and Streaming Specifications
Goodtime Hustle provides a prerecorded video show to display behind the band as they perform. This video can be provided via USB stick to a device of your choice or HDMI from our laptop. We also live-stream the performances whenever possible. A single camera on a tripod at front of house provides input to an encoder which also receives stereo audio input from our monitor system. We require a wired internet connection to provide a reliable live stream.

Space Requirements
We require space for a laptop in an appropriate spot adjacent to an input for the projector or video wall. Our camera tripod requires a minimum of a 3’x3’ area in a location that can see the stage.

Video Power
The video encoder can be powered from our monitor rack’s 110v courtesy output. The video camera requires a single 110v power outlet (minimum load). The laptop does as well (also minimum load).

Setup and Operation
Our video rig generally can be assembled and tested by one person in about half an hour. Load out of video takes fifteen minutes. The audio engineer or lighting engineer is required to click on a couple things at appropriate times but otherwise no independent operator is required.

Lighting Specifications
Goodtime Hustle’s lighting rig is designed to light a space 16 feet wide and 12 feet deep. It consists of four ground-supported T-Bar lighting stands and one cross-panel that supports an assortment of 20 moving and stationary LED lighting fixtures. We provide either haze for indoor shows or ground fog in outdoor situations.

Space Requirements
Each of the four lighting stands require a 3’x3’ unobstructed area. Two of the stands are upstage of the drummer, placed four and a half feet on either side from center. The downstage stands are placed six feet upstage of the downstage edge and eight feet from either side of center. The stands are nine foot tall when at trim. Our board operator needs a minimum of 9 sq/ft for front of house.

Power Requirements
The LED lighting requires one dedicated 15 amp 110 volt Edison power circuit. If we are using haze or fog we will require a second dedicated 15 amp 110 volt Edison power circuit. If you would like haze AND fog with the lighting we will require a total of three 15 amp circuits.

Transportation and Labor
Our light show ships from the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle in a 6’x4’x2’ stack and adds 48 cu/ft to our pack. It generally takes a minimum of two people, two hours to load in, set up, focus and program properly in a new space. If we’re already carrying a PA and audio engineer they will usually be able to help with this load in requirement. Load out can be done in an hour.

Operator Requirements
In order to properly operate the show we require either an experienced light board operator who is familiar with the rig as programmed or a dedicated on-site lighting designer to be present for the performance.
