Shama, a classy and sophisticated Indian vocalist (as featured in the Hollywood Blockbuster, Taken 3), has been singing since childhood. Shama had her first band at the age of 9 and performed regularly on Kenyan Television. Having received her vocal training from Smt. Swati Natekar and Smt. Krishna Chakraborty, Shama went onto developing her own voice and style to suit the music she performs.
Shama became a brand name in her own right in 1994 as she set out with the very popular Shama and Friends band, wowing audiences in South America, Caribbean, West Africa, Dubai, Europe and nationally in UK over the next several years. She has performed alongside artistes from the Bollywood music industry like Anup Jalota, Sukhwinder Singh, Nitin Mukesh, Mangal Singh to name a few…
In 2009, Shama came together with Hinal Pattani to form The 515 Crew, a young and dynamic band which entered its first year as a band, although all the individual members had a collective experience of several years between them. The band brings the flavour of Indian bollywood music to the world fusion stage through unique, exciting and colourful performances! Performances include a wide range of old classics and new Bollywood hits, selected English songs.
The core band line up is Shama, 2 male singers, 6 musicians (keyboards, drums, lead guitar, bass guitar, percussion & indian percussions) and sound/engineer. Lighting can be provided to suit most venues. Extra musicians, dancers and dhol players can be added to the line-up upon request.
