About / Biography

BlackWire Entertainment is a musician-run agency built to break the cycle of recycled lineups. We connect standout artists with venues seeking more than the same bands on repeat. We don’t just book gigs — we help promote them, build audiences, and deliver impact. Every artist is handpicked for quality, professionalism, and stage presence. No fillers, no fluff. Venues trust us because we uphold high standards. BlackWire exists to challenge stale industry norms with fairer deals, stronger connections, and a commitment to live music that moves the needle. We're not here to play it safe — we're here to raise the bar.

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

Most acts require a safe, level performance area, access to power, and adequate time for soundcheck. Specific requirements vary depending on the act, but we’ll provide a tech rider or basic setup list in advance. Many of our artists can supply their own PA and lighting if needed, or work seamlessly with in-house systems. We aim to make setup straightforward, efficient, and tailored to your space.

What information do you require about a venue?

To ensure a smooth performance, we ask for key venue details upfront. This includes the performance area size, access to power, load-in and setup times, noise restrictions, available gear (e.g. in-house PA or lighting), parking access, and event timings. The more we know, the better we can match the right act and ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Many of our acts can provide their own professional-grade sound and basic lighting equipment if the venue doesn’t have an in-house setup. Requirements vary by act, and we’ll confirm what’s included during the booking process. For larger events or more complex setups, we can also connect you with trusted production partners to ensure everything looks and sounds spot on.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, most of our acts offer a curated Spotify or DJ-style playback service before, between, and after live sets to maintain the vibe and keep the energy flowing. Whether you want chill background music or party tracks to bridge the gaps, we’ve got it covered — just let us know your preferences during the booking process.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

Every act on our roster has their own standout story — from massive festival stages to packed-out club nights or unforgettable weddings where the crowd didn’t stop singing. We work with some of the best venues across NSW and beyond, but what really makes a gig great is the connection — the energy in the room, the chemistry on stage, and a crowd that’s all in. That’s what we live for.

What's your favourite type of event?

The kind where the crowd’s locked in, the sound is tight, and the energy’s undeniable — whether it’s a festival, a wedding, or a packed venue. Our acts thrive in spaces where people come to listen, move, and connect. It’s not about the size — it’s about the vibe. If the audience is all in, so are we.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

Our artists come from all corners of the live scene — from grassroots gigs and pub residencies to large-scale festivals and national tours. Most started the way it should be done: jamming in garages, hustling for stage time, and earning their stripes one show at a time. Every act we represent has gig-tested experience, a tight live setup, and the drive to perform like it matters — because it does.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

Most acts require 60–90 minutes for setup and soundcheck, depending on the size of the lineup and gear involved. Performance times are flexible and tailored to the event — from 1x45 minute showcases to 3x40 minute party sets. We’ll confirm everything in advance, including arrival, bump-in, and pack-down times, so there are no surprises on the day.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, most of our acts are happy to perform outdoors, provided there’s safe, level ground, access to power, and adequate shelter from weather. Wet weather plans, shade, and cover are essential to protect both performers and equipment. Let us know early if your event is outdoors so we can plan accordingly and make sure everything runs smoothly.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Absolutely — we welcome client input. Most acts have a well-rehearsed setlist, but we’re happy to tailor the vibe to suit your event. Whether it’s a “must-play,” a “don’t-play,” or a preferred genre focus, we’ll work with you in advance to get it right. Just keep in mind that last-minute changes on the night may not always be possible, but we’ll do our best to accommodate.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

High-energy, professional, and unforgettable. Clients often praise our acts for reading the room, keeping the crowd engaged, and delivering tight, polished sets. Whether it's a wedding, venue gig, or headline slot, the feedback is consistent — smooth setup, great sound, and a performance that hits harder than expected. It's not just about playing songs — it's about owning the moment.
