I'm Diogo Pessoa de Andrade, a Portuguese independent filmmaker based in Lisbon, working as a producer, director, director of photography | cinematographer (DoP) and videographer. I specialise in creative visual storytelling for brands, agencies and artists – from documentaries and commercials to music videos, live concerts and innovative corporate events.
Besides single-camera shoots, I also provide multi-camera live recording and production for live music concerts, festivals, conferences and hybrid events. Multi-camera and live streaming services are quoted on a project basis, depending on the type of live event, venue size, number of cameras, shooting days and artists involved.
With access to state-of-the-art film and video equipment and professional studios in Lisbon, Porto and Faro/Algarve, I provide the resources needed to bring your vision to life. Leveraging my in-depth knowledge of Portugal’s diverse locations and stunning landscapes, I help productions capture the perfect scenes, showcasing the country’s versatility, natural beauty, cultural heritage and its people. My services are available throughout Portugal and internationally.
Studios & Partnerships in Lisbon:
Access to professional film & video studios in Lisbon and high-end film gear rental (cinema cameras, cine lenses, pro audio, lighting & grip, teleprompter, drones). On request: casting, permits, logistics, crew, transport, catering. We also provide small to mid-size film & video crew hire in Lisbon, with the option to scale as needed through a trusted local network.
I offer competitive and fair day rates aligned with industry standards in Portugal, with flexible options for full days, half days and multi-day shoots. Depending on the scope, I can work as a Director of Photography (DoP/DP) / Cinematographer or operate as a high-end one-man crew. Each shoot is scoped transparently based on creative needs, crew size and the required camera and lighting package, with clear project prices tailored to each production.
While the title “videographer” accurately describes end-to-end efficiency – often referring to a solo shooter who handles all aspects of a project – the expertise I bring encompasses the specialised skills of a director, cinematographer (DoP) and producer. For high-level productions and international clients, I understand that quality demands more than just capturing footage; it requires years of experience in creative direction, cinematic lighting, managing logistics and delivering fast, reliable post-production.
Whether handling a quick turnaround project or an extensive campaign, you receive full-spectrum video production services, ensuring premium results that go far beyond standard videography.
Creative Visuals specialises in delivering superior visual content for international projects – serving agencies, global brands, TV networks and independent content creators.

My Way (Frank Sinatra)
For most shoots I need a quiet space with enough room for camera, tripod and basic lighting (minimum 3m x 4m for interviews / talking heads). Access to at least two standard power outlets is required for lights, monitors and charging batteries. Safe access for loading in camera, lighting and grip cases is important, plus somewhere secure to store equipment during the shoot.
– Exact address, floor and access instructions (parking, loading bay, lift/stairs).
– Size and layout of the room(s) we’ll be filming in.
– Available power outlets and whether there are any noise or time restrictions.
– If there is natural light (windows) that cannot be blacked out.
– If the venue requires any special filming permits, security checks or insurance documents.
Yes. I can provide professional sound and lighting packages tailored to the project. For smaller shoots this usually includes LED key/fill/back lights, stands and basic grip, plus location sound (shotgun/lavalier microphones, mixer/recorder and monitoring). For larger productions I can arrange additional lighting, grip and sound gear through trusted rental houses in Lisbon.
I don’t provide a DJ/Spotify service as I focus exclusively on filming. However, I’m used to working closely with event organisers, DJs and AV companies to take a clean audio feed from the PA or mixer for the video. If needed, I can also help coordinate basic background music or liaise with your DJ/AV team so that sound and playback are properly captured on camera.
I work mainly with Sony cinema cameras such as the FX9, FX6, FX3 and the global-shutter Sony F55. For higher-end film and commercial work I can also source ARRI camera packages through trusted Lisbon rental houses, including ALEXA Mini LF, ALEXA LF and AMIRA, paired with high-quality cine lenses and full accessory support (wireless video, monitoring, filters, etc.).
Yes. I can design and run multi-camera setups for live music concerts, festivals, conferences and corporate events. Depending on the venue and brief, I can provide vision mixing, recording of all camera feeds, graphics and basic live streaming. Each project is quoted individually based on the type of event, number of cameras, crew size and days of shooting.
Absolutely. I can take care of the complete production process: concept development, scripting, shot lists, location scouting, scheduling, filming (single-camera or multi-camera), drone work, sound recording, as well as editing and colour grading. I often work as a local production partner in Portugal for international clients who need a reliable filmmaker / director of photography on the ground in Lisbon, Porto or the Algarve.
Yes. Music videos and live music events are a big part of what I do. I work as a music video director and cinematographer, helping artists and labels develop concepts, plan shoots and film performance or narrative-driven videos on location or in studio. For live concerts and festivals I can film with a single cinematic camera or design full multi-camera coverage, capturing both the performance on stage and the energy of the audience. Audio can be taken directly from the mixing desk and combined with ambient sound for a polished live concert film or highlight video.
Over the years I’ve filmed some of the biggest music events in Portugal, including major festivals such as Rock in Rio, MEO Sudoeste and MEO Marés Vivas, as well as opera performances, theatre and large corporate shows. As an event videographer / live concert cinematographer, I’ve worked in arenas, outdoor stages, historic theatres and modern venues across Lisbon and beyond.
That said, the “best gig” is not only about size – it’s about the stories and the people. Some of my favourite projects have been smaller live music events, creative corporate gatherings and documentary-style shoots where there was a genuine connection and a strong narrative to capture.
I’m most excited by events that feel alive: live performances and live music concerts, innovative corporate events, brand launches and hybrid experiences that are a bit “out of the box”. I love filming shows where there is strong emotion on stage and in the audience – events with real stories, real people and real moments. Whether it’s an intimate showcase, an experimental art performance or a creative business event, I approach it with a documentary-style, cinematic event videography mindset so the client gets more than simple coverage – they get a story.
Can’t remember – people usually say I was born with it.
I started filming as a teenager, shooting small projects and live performances for friends, bands and local events. From there I moved into independent films, music videos and documentary-style projects, and later into commercial, corporate and event videography for brands and agencies.
Today I work as a filmmaker, director and cinematographer based in Lisbon, Portugal, providing professional video production services for live events, conferences, corporate videos, music videos and branded content. My background in both creative storytelling and technical cinematography helps me handle everything from planning and shooting to editing and colour grading, so clients can rely on one production partner from start to finish.
I’m influenced less by one specific artist and more by the way music, image and storytelling can come together in a powerful way. I love music videos that create a whole universe around a song – from darker, cinematic aesthetics to intimate, documentary-style pieces. One of my favourite projects to direct and shoot was a gothic-inspired music video for the artist RAMMA, where we built an entire visual world and character inside a historic palace in Portugal. As a music video director and cinematographer based in Lisbon, I enjoy translating an artist’s sound into strong visual storytelling – playing with light, shadow, costume and location to create something that feels like a short film, not just a performance clip.
For most jobs I arrive 60–90 minutes before the first shot to set up cameras, lighting and sound, and to walk through the schedule with the client. A standard filming day is up to 10 hours on site, including setup and wrap. For live events and conferences I usually stay from pre-doors or sound check until the end of the key moments we agreed to cover.
Yes. I frequently film outdoors – from seaside locations and historic streets in Lisbon to rooftops, gardens and festival stages. I just need to know in advance so we can plan for weather, power, permits (if required) and appropriate lighting and sound solutions.
Every project is tailored to the client. You are welcome to share references, brand guidelines, previous videos and any creative ideas you have. I’ll then suggest the best way to film and edit it using my experience in cinematic storytelling, live event videography and music video production. Some clients come with a very clear brief; others prefer me to propose a full concept and visual style.
Previous clients often describe me as creative, calm, professional and easy to work with – a problem-solver even under pressure. They value the cinematic look of the images, clear communication before and during the shoot, and fast, reliable delivery of the final edits. Many say they enjoy having a filmmaker who can quietly blend into the event while still capturing all the important moments and emotions.
