The best gig Holtfaction has performed to date was our recent show at Secret Pour in Brooklyn, New York. Playing in one of the country's most influential music cities was an incredible experience, and the crowd's energy and enthusiasm made it a truly memorable night for the band. The performance gave us the opportunity to connect with new listeners and showcase our blend of goth rock, post-punk, and alternative rock to an engaged audience.

As for the best venue we've worked at, Secret Pour stands out for its intimate atmosphere, excellent sound, and strong support for independent artists. The venue created the perfect environment for both performers and fans, making it one of our favorite places to play and a highlight of Holtfaction's live performance history.

Our favorite type of event is a high-volume, diverse crowd setting, especially outdoor festivals. We love festivals because they bring together people from different backgrounds, music tastes, and communities, creating an exciting atmosphere where audiences are open to discovering new artists. There's something special about performing outdoors with a large, energetic crowd and sharing our blend of goth rock, post-punk, and alternative rock with both dedicated fans and first-time listeners.

Outdoor festivals also offer a unique sense of connection and celebration that’s hard to match. The scale, energy, and variety of the experience make them some of our favorite events to play, and we always look forward to opportunities to perform in those environments.

Holtfaction’s members have a combined 30 years of experience performing, writing, and recording music. We started gigging through local venues and grassroots music events, building our reputation within the alternative, goth rock, and post-punk scenes. Over time, we expanded to larger shows, festivals, and diverse live music events, developing our stage presence and connecting with wider audiences.

The artists that have influenced us most are the ones who combined raw energy, individuality, and great songwriting.
Bands like The Gun Club, Queens of the Stone Age, Peaches, Babes in Toyland, The Gits, Sex Pistols, Kittie, Hole, L7, Kyuss, Mudhoney, Sonic Youth, Type O Negative, Moonspell, Biohazard, Fugazi, Bad Brains, Misfits, Mark Lanegan, Jack White, Danzig, and The Foo Fighters have all left a mark on how we approach music. We’re also huge admirers of artists such as Courtney Love and Brody Dalle, whose honesty, character, and unique voices helped shape alternative music in lasting ways.
Picking a single favorite artist is almost impossible, but if we had to choose, Mark Lanegan would be right at the top of the list. His voice, songwriting, and ability to convey emotion were truly unique, and his work continues to inspire us.
As for the greatest song of all time, that’s an even tougher question. There are too many classics to name just one definitive winner but “Helter Skelter”
