Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

It’s hard to pick just one, but one of the most memorable venues we've played has to be Adare Manor. The atmosphere, the setting — it’s just breathtaking. There’s something special about performing in such a grand, historic place where every detail is stunning.

As for the best gig, we’ve been lucky to share the stage with some amazing artists over the years, but performing alongside a well-known artist in front of a big audience was definitely a highlight. Those moments where everything clicks — the sound, the crowd, the energy — that’s what we live for as musicians.

What's your favourite type of event?

We love playing at all sorts of events but weddings ceremonies and drinks reception are our favourite! Love creating an atmosphere on someonen's special day.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

We’re two seasoned musicians with over 30 years of combined experience, and our duo came together a few years ago from a shared love for timeless classics. Over the years, we’ve each played in a variety of settings, but this project allowed us to bring those beloved songs into a new light, reimagined through the warm, intimate sound of nylon-string guitar. It’s a style that resonates with people instantly — there’s a reason the guitar is one of the world’s most loved instruments. Our goal is simple: to create a musical atmosphere that’s both nostalgic and fresh, familiar yet unique.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

We've both been deeply influenced by a mix of classic jazz and timeless pop artists like João Gilberto, George Benson, and of course, the Bee Gees have had a huge impact on our sound. Their ability to blend harmony, melody, and emotion is something we really admire.

If we had to pick a favourite artist, the Bee Gees would definitely be high on the list. Their songwriting is just phenomenal — emotional, catchy, and timeless.

And the greatest song of all time? That’s a tough one, but if we had to choose, “How Deep Is Your Love” by the Bee Gees captures everything we love about music: beautiful harmony, emotional depth, and a melody that stays with you.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We normally arrive 2 hours before the performance set to set u. We usually play for 2x 50 min, we are also happy to adapt to the current event, so playinga. bit longer or shorter is not a problem.

Are you happy to perform outside?

We’re happy to play outside if the weather allows, but we ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually limit this to 5 songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Previous clients often describe Strings Attached as elegant, soulful, and incredibly versatile. The warm tone of our nylon-string guitars creates a unique atmosphere — whether it’s a relaxed background setting or a more engaging performance, people often say our music adds something special without ever feeling intrusive.

We’ve been told our playing brings a sense of calm, class, and nostalgia, and many have commented on the way we reinterpret well-loved songs in a fresh, intimate style. One of the most common things we hear is: “I didn’t expect to love instrumental guitar music this much — but this was beautiful.”
