Bands requests to setup on a stage riser or on a flat, hard, dry surface if on the floor.
Stage riser size is based on band size selected.
Electrical power needs vary based on sound system size . Generally, 2 to 6 isolated, standard 20 amp circuits are requested.
We ask about electrical power availability, parking fees and directions, green room or storage area availability for band breaks and instrument cases. We also ask whether full sound support and stage lighting will be provided for the band or if our band's sound vendor will need to provide.
If needed, we can provide full sound system and stage lighting support through our sound vendors for a room with up to 2,500 people. If sound and lights will be provided through the purchaser, we are happy to use your provider.
We are happy to provide recorded break music via Spotify from our band's iPad before, after, and between sets. We have many playlists that have been specially curated for cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, and also holiday themes or we can create a custom playlist of songs chosen by the client. An optional DJ with a professional DJ facade and beautifully up-lit scrim is also available upon request.
We have played many world class events at iconic venues nationwide. One of our most memorable functions was at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas for an over the top, $500k "Barbie's Dreamhouse" themed birthday party. Other standout events include playing for Stellantis with an audience of 5,000 at MGM Grand Las Vegas; The Cleveland Cavaliers annual charity gala at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, OH; and for the Houston Symphony Orchestra's annual gala at the Post Oak Hotel in Houston, TX.
Here’s a refined version of your paragraph for punctuation, grammar, clarity, and flow:
We play all types of events—both private and public—and we love them all for different reasons. Some of our favorite functions have been weddings and corporate events because we’re honored by the trust our clients place in us to help make their event a success, and we’re passionate about making it perfect. Whether we’re setting the mood with Sinatra and Michael Bublé favorites during dinner, providing instrumental pop / jazz background music for a cocktail mixer, playing walk-on music at an awards show, fostering camaraderie and team building with our live band karaoke, creating a 1920s Gatsby vibe with our Speakeasy band, or packing the dance floor with the greatest dance hits from the ’70s to today’s Top 40 for a wedding reception or corporate after party—our priority is always to deliver A+ service from start to finish and create unforgettable memories for our clients and their guests.
Each member of The SwingBeats brings an extensive professional background both on and off the stage. Justin's interest in music began at the age of 8 when he first heard Tony Bennett and Bing Crosby Holiday albums his father played on the home stereo in Michigan. He began singing after being inspired by a concert on PBS and developed his craft learning to sing jazz standards in local Las Vegas venues while taking piano and vocal lessons. Justin studied finance at UNLV and later founded SwingBeat Entertainment and the band Justin & The SwingBeats. Since then, he has built a world class team of 150+ musicians and singers nationwide who have performed with Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Sabrina Carpenter, Michael Buble, Pitbull, and Celine Dion along with vocalists seen on American Idol, Americas Got Talent, and The Voice. Today, our mission is to create spectacular live music entertainment customized to each client's vision.
Justin has been most influenced by Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin for their cool stage presence, smooth vocals, quick wit, and humor; Pitbull for his work ethic, dance anthems, and party-starting energy; and Brandon Flowers of The Killers and Adam Levine of Maroon 5 for their inspiring success stories and pop-rock hits.
With so many favorite songs, it's difficult for Justin to choose a single greatest song of all time but he thinks "Dreams" by Van Halen should be at the top of the list!
The band generally arrives 2 hours prior to the start time to set up and sound check. If our sound vendor is providing sound and lights, they typically request to arrive 4 - 5 hours before the start time to set up sound and stage lights although this can be shorter or longer depending on the band size.
For a standard 3 hour event, we normally play 2 (45 minute) sets with 2 (15 minute) breaks and then play the last hour out. This is flexible to the needs of the event and overtime rates are available.
Yes, we routinely play outside for events. We ask to set up on either a stage riser or a flat, hard, dry surface if setting up on the ground. If playing in 100+ degree temperatures, the band and all equipment will need to be fully shaded from direct sunlight to prevent the electronics from overheating. We ask for a either a power drop at the stage area or to set up near an electrical power source.
We have an extensive song list of 400+ songs and generally create a customized set list for each event based on our client's input. We can then share the set list with the client for their final review and let them delete or add any songs as desired. We are happy to learn song requests that are not in our current playlist but typically limit this to 3 - 5 songs per event.
Clients frequently describe our performances as high energy, “feel-good” music that draws crowds to the dance floor. We also love hearing from clients how organized, polished, detail oriented, and professional their experience was working with our team throughout the booking and planning process.
Absolutely! We love to travel and regularly play for events in many major cities nationwide. We have 150+ world class SwingBeats band members who are local in most cities where we play. Typically, Justin flies in with his female singers (when booked with Justin) and plays with our top-tier local musicians which keeps travel costs to a minimum.
Our musicians typically dress in black suits, white dress shirts, and black ties with Justin in a tuxedo style dinner jacket (many jacket colors available to fit varying event themes). Our glamorous female singers usually wear either long gala dresses or short party dresses depending on the nature of each event. The band can also dress down casually when requested. From casual to upscale, black tie to white tie...we do it all.
