Well if I'm driving and the venue is within 250 miles of Erie Pa, and the venue is to too large I can handle PA. I have mics, and a powered speakers and it sounds good for SMALL venues. If I bring PA I have light music a half hour prior and a few minutes after to make the transition less awkward.
I always suggest maybe hiring a DJ for after if you have a full house and want them to stay and drink.
But if I'm flying in or not bringing PA I suggest you find something, talk to you local musicians and DJs they can ensure you have something :)
One where there are minimal distractions, a crowd who is ready and enthusiastic for comedy. And a promoter who helps make it memorable and we'll received
I was a touring musician from 1989 until 2015 and did my 10000 hours many times over. But switched to comedy a decade ago .. I prefer making people laugh. But the stage is no stranger to me. I can go large or small and am experienced in it all
I can be there an hour prior and definitely plan on talking to you about the event prior. I like to prattle on, and talk, so we can get all fineries to make the show special for you worked out going into it . Good communication is the key.
In ok with it, but prefer indoors. I just prefer proper lighting. And seating for patrons so the show can be as professional as possible
They can request a bit or a mention sure in open. But I stay away from politics
