Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

Typically I don’t need anything if I’m playing my Great Highland Bagpipes unless the event would like to mic me using a special pic up mic.

What information do you require about a venue?

Most information I can find out on the day of the event.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

I typically do not do this as it isn’t needed for my performances but if a client would like me too, I could provide what is needed at a cost to the client.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

N/A

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

Recently I had the opportunity to perform with Edmonton Symphony Orchestra at the Winspear Centre and that has definitely a highlight for me.

What's your favourite type of event?

I love playing at weddings, seeing everyone so happy and celebrating love is always exciting but I also really enjoy performing anywhere. It’s my passion and something I’m really talented at and enjoy spreading that to my clients and their guests.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I started performing for people at a young age and it’s always something I’ve enjoyed doing. Doing it professionally now is what I’ve always wanted to do and seeing it come to fruition is very special for me.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

There are way too many to list and in multiple genres of music. Music is the international language of all humanity.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

Typically I arrive about half an hour prior to my performance time to get situated, see the lay of the land and warm up / tune my instrument so that I’m ready to perform when called upon.

Are you happy to perform outside?

I am happy to perform both outside and indoors and am comfortable playing in all weather conditions.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I am happy to field requests as I am quite versed in multiple genres of music. Mostly traditional Scottish music but I do like to play some contemporary as well.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Exceptional. Excellent. Talented. Remarkable. Top Shelf.

Do you perform digitally as well as traditionally?

Yes, I do. I have a digital set up that I can use in bars and hook up to through a PA system and blow the roof off of the place.
