Ana Sofia Nunes is a lyric soprano from Lisbon. In 2025, she made her debut in the role of Alice Ford in Verdi’s opera *Falstaff* at the Teatro Comunale di Vicenza, Italy. She has performed on various stages across Europe and North America, including the Berlin OpernFest in the role of Taumännchen (Dew Fairy) in Hänsel und Gretel (Humperdinck) in 2024, the Millennium Stage at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC with excerpts from Violetta in La Traviata (Verdi) and Norma (Bellini), and at Emma Cons Hall in London with scenes from Clorinda in La Cenerentola (Rossini). She has also performed in several early music concerts, such as the role of Filia in Carissimi’s Historia di Jepthe in Lisbon (2024) and presented arias from Handel’s Messiah with the Southampton Orchestra in the UK.
She looks forward to new opportunities in the world of opera, but cherishes the beginning of her musical journey. She began her musical studies at the Lisbon Conservatory, where she studied piano with pianist Diana Botelho and singing with soprano Ângela Silva. She continued her training in London, where she completed a degree in Vocal Performance at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, studying with mezzo-soprano Yolanda Grant-Thompson. In 2025, she joined the National Opera Studio’s academy for promising young talent and took part in international training programmes such as the AAMS Masterclass for Emerging Young Artists at the Kennedy Center (USA). She is currently studying for a master’s degree specialising in opera at the Swiss Opera Studio in Switzerland.
