Salut String Quartet perform a range of well loved popular music, motown, movie and Bridgerton pieces alongside traditional classical, folk and jazz favourites providing the perfect soundtrack for weddings, special events and corporate functions.
Our repertoire list is extensive and we are regularly expanding it and can take requests.
The elegant and expressive Salut String Quartet formed late 2024 are becoming the number one choice of live string music for a variety of functions, including for the Prime Minister of New Zealand, various "Lady's and Sirs" corporate celebrations for discerning clients such as Singapore Air and bespoke product launches and simple to large-scale weddings for local and International couples. We are happy to independently prepare or work with your vision to help create an exceptionally memorable event for you! We are based in Auckland, New Zealand but our capable string players have travelled to perform all over New Zealand and been hired for events as far away as Russell and Invercargill.
Our difference is that our players hold Principal positions in well loved Auckland and National Orchestras and some of our members are also in demand as solo performers with various New Zealand orchestras performing impressive programmes of music in recitals and public engagements. Our first violinist Harris was a tutor for Auckland String Quartet Summer School in Auckland for 14 String Quartets in 2026.
The String Quartet is the optimal choice for any event in terms of musical interest, balance, colour and range of repertoire however we can provide Trios, Duets and Soloists if required.

Protection from the elements for ourselve and our instruments. We always require a gazebo or parabola with full covering if playing for an outdoor function, wedding which often venues provide.
We do not need as we are acoustic.

We've performed for the top politicians of New Zealand but to be honest we're stoked to be performing for anyone that we bring musical happiness to with our high level playing and beautiful, exciting playing!
One where we're fed afterwards.., just joking, (poor musicians lol!) One where we feel we've really touched the audience or played pieces that people identify with. We love it when people get excited and come and stand to listen at a gig and even though as classically trained musicians we're a bit camera shy, we think it's nice when you're inspired to record us.
We have been on the scene for quite a while in other groups, often in Leadership, Concertmaster or Principal player positions in orchestras but have decided after some local Chamber concert performances to formally "bond" as a String Quartet to help earn a more steady living, (hopefully, please book or hire us!) AND also put on some more concerts. We also "give back" to the community by donating 1 hour back to a needy musical youth, cause for every 20 hours booked.
Personally speaking I would say Beethoven and the other Quartet members like Mozart, Boccherini, Shostakovich but we're having fun with Bridgerton covers, Cole Porter and I personally really enjoy Motown!
We prefer two hour calls and will arrive 20 minutes beforehand to set-up.
We're happy to perform for outside functions, wedding but require shelter, (gazebo, umbrella) and a flat level surface. Our expensive, antique wooden instruments need protection from the sun which people tend to not know.
