Benjamin Barrile is a Toronto-based flamenco guitarist known for delivering expressive and captivating live performances rooted in the rich traditions of Spanish flamenco.
After travelling to Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, one of flamenco’s most important cultural centres, Benjamin immersed himself in the art form and studied with respected maestros. That experience continues to shape his playing today, combining authenticity with a refined and modern sensibility.
His performances range from intimate and atmospheric to dynamic and engaging, making him a strong fit for corporate events, private functions, and concert settings alike. In addition to traditional flamenco formats, Benjamin also performs over deep house and electronic music, either solo with curated tracks or alongside a live DJ. This fusion creates a unique and contemporary sound that works especially well for upscale events and late-night settings.
Alongside his work as a performer, Benjamin is an award-winning composer and active recording artist. He has collaborated with groups such as Tamar Ilana and Ventanas, and works extensively as a producer and co-composer. He is also a resident guitarist with leading Toronto flamenco dance companies, bringing years of professional experience to every performance.
Benjamin is a two-time Dora Mavor Moore Award winner for Outstanding Sound Design and Composition, and a Canadian Folk Music Award nominee.
