We love playing at all sorts of events but informal gigs are our favourite.

We started out decades ago on one of the Dutch Wadden Islands, where many of the band members lived at the time. We simply loved making music together, playing everything from Dixieland to mainstream jazz. After moving to the Dutch mainland, we brought new musicians together and became CéCé.

CéCé enjoys playing in all kinds of places, for all kinds of audiences: from restaurants and cultural venues to intimate events and unusual locations. We also regularly combine trips abroad with making music.
To give you a clear idea of what to expect, here’s what CéCé is—and isn’t.
CéCé is not:
a party band, a dance band, although people do sometimes get up and dance, a band that plays at ear-splitting volume, a band that uses the venue’s sound system; we perform with our own equipment, a concertband where everyone has to sit in silence, although that sometimes happens at our theatre shows
CéCé brings:
A subtle musical atmosphere. A comfortable volume, making our live jazz a stylish backdrop to conversation. A flexible setup, with the arrangement and schedule agreed with the organiser. Musical interaction, both between the musicians and with the audience. A relaxed, informal presence
CéCé is booked by venues and organisers who appreciate our music and approach.

CéCé is booked by venues and organisers who appreciate our music and approach. We’re especially at home at:
- (Sunday) afternoon gatherings — conversation, drinks and snacks, with our music adding to the atmosphere
- Dinners, receptions, anniversaries and business events that call for live music
- Jazz dinners that bring together good food and good music
- Small festivals, unexpected locations and cultural events
- Other occasions — just get in touch and we’ll talk through the possibilities

We usually play one, two or three sets of around 45 minutes each, depending on your wishes. We’re happy to adjust the format in consultation with you.

No problem, provided there is shelter from the rain, such as a canopy or tent, if needed to protect our electrical equipment.

We don’t take song requests, but we’re happy to discuss the structure of our sets with you in advance.
