About / Biography

As a singer and acoustic guitarist, I play over 700 popular cover songs ranging from classic rock to pop to country, in a high-energy, crowd centric show - perfect for bars, restaurants, parties, and other events. I tailor each performance and song selection to match the audience in the room. I generally take requests, as long as they are audience-appropriate, and am happy to learn new songs at the venue or crowds request. I generally consider myself more an entertainer than an artist, and my goal is to make sure everyone in the audience is having the best time they possibly can.

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

For solo shows, I only need a small space, roughly 6'x6', and at least one power outlet. Additional performers or requested instrumentation may need other accomodations.

What information do you require about a venue?

What is the type of venue (bar, restaurant, party center, public park, etc), and basic audience demographic (is it 21+, family friendly, catered to younger 25-40 or older 50+ age groups, etc). Will any of my equipment be used for additional purposes, announcements, etc?

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

I have multiple tiers of PA system available based on the venue size / space, and can provide basic lighting.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

I can provide intermittent music as needed, either through my own device, or have the ability to plug in from the venue.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

My largest solo show was to a crowd of almost 2000 people playing as the before-and-after music for a Harry Potter film premiere. I also had the privilege of playing with Dave Brubek once, and Robert Lockwood Jr twice. I was the in-house head of entertainment for a small bar / restaurant group for 15 years, and it was an amazing and fulfilling experience, and I got to work with many amazing artists and musicians over the years.

What's your favourite type of event?

Any event where the audience feels more like my friends than my clients.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I started playing in bands during high school, and as a soloist early in college. I got my start at open mic nights and quickly turned into the most popular cover band on campus. I have continued to play in those capacities ever since.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

It's almost impossible to narrow it down to just one, but some of the biggest have been John Popper (Blues Traveler), Dave Matthews, and Adam Duritz (Counting Crows). I believe the greatest song of all time has yet to be written.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

My typical show is a three-hour long almost continuous performance. If I do take breaks, they will usually be less than five minutes, and only during a lull in the crowd. I try to arrive at least an hour before show time, more if it's the first time in a new location. I can extend show duration to about 4.5 hours as a soloist, or almost indefinitely if I bring in fellow musicians.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Absolutely - weather permitting I will perform anywhere. I can provide a canopy, but due to my equipment, I cannot play in rain / wet places.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I pride myself is catering my setlist to each audience - I will happily focus my playing to whatever genre or style best matches the vibe of the room. Given a little lead time, I can learn new songs at the venues request.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Most places I play at say I am their favorite performer in rotation - I have a larger songlist, more energy, and "read the room" better than many other acoustic artists.
