Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

A parking space as close to an entrance as possible, a power supply and a small table!

What information do you require about a venue?

We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment. We’d also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue. A venue contact would also be helpful it the venue isn't your home!

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

I bring my own PA system to all my gigs but not a lighting. If you require special lighting please let me know well in advance as this will be an additional charge.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

The the last few years I have done the Christmas Party session at The Lodge, Duxford. The vibe is always amazing and lots of the returning customers are always happy to see me and we always have a great time.

What's your favourite type of event?

I like any event where the guest just feel free to let go and enjoy themselves. I love and feed of interaction, so the more the better!

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I have always loved singing and was part of the church choir when I was a young child. As a teenager I always wanted to be a popstar but it wasn't until I fell in love with Big Band music that I really started singing. Beginning with open mic nights I started to build a reputation and then the offers came in from a number of venues. Since then I performed at events ranging from house parties to festivals, numerous wedding, I regularly perform at care homes (which are some of my most satisfying gigs) and corporate clients like John Lewis and Ikea.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

The Crooner kings have definitely influenced and inspired me. Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin to name a few. I also love Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald. Timeless voices. I don't know about the greatest song of all time but the greatest song to end a performance is without a doubt, New York New York! Always leave them on a high!

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I try to arrive 30-45 minutes before the start time. I have a very simple setup which generally takes no longer than 10 minutes. My standard performance time is 2 x 45 minutes but this is totally flexible of course!

Are you happy to perform outside?

Totally happy to play outside but we ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I can learn specific songs before the event providing I have enough time to learn it, I can find the right backing track and I believe I can deliver it and acceptable standard. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let me choose the music for them based on their brief.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Fun, a little cheeky, interactive, smooth and amazing vocals (of course!)
