My name is Demetrios Kehagias is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist performing on Oud, Lavta, and Trombone. I specialize in Greek and Turkish repertoire, bringing stylistic authenticity and musical sensitivity to both traditional and contemporary settings. As a singer and oud/lavta player, I perform a wide range of modal music with a strong command of phrasing, rhythm, and ornamentation.
In addition to my work in Eastern Mediterranean music, I am an accomplished trombonist, performing across many genres with particular strength in Latin and Latin Jazz. I am an excellent sight-reader, able to adapt quickly and contribute effectively in professional ensemble settings. I have been performing on the NYC scene for the past 20 years.
I am available both as a solo oud performer and as an ensemble musician on trombone, offering versatility, reliability, and stylistic range.
