About / Biography

I'm Lucky Evi, a London-based DJ with 15 years' experience and a 5.0 rating from verified client reviews.

I DJ weddings, birthday parties, corporate events and private celebrations. My roots are in hip-hop and R&B, but I play open-format sets covering everything from Motown, soul and disco to UK garage, Afrobeats, chart hits and Greek and music.

I don't work from a fixed playlist. I pay attention to the crowd, read the room and adjust the music as the night develops. The aim is simple: a good party, a busy dancefloor and music that works for the people in front of me.

I also specialise in Greek and mixed Greek-English weddings and parties, bringing both sides of the music together without treating either as an afterthought.

I've DJed at The Connaught in London and played New Year's Eve aboard the Woods Silver Fleet on the Thames.

I bring my own DJ equipment, sound system, lighting and microphones for speeches. I'm a member of the National Association of Disc Jockeys (NADJ), carry public liability insurance and use PAT-tested equipment.

I'm based in London and available for events across the UK and abroad.

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I need a table approximately 1 metre wide, two standard power sockets and enough space for my DJ equipment and speakers. I'll handle the setup and pack-down myself.

What information do you require about a venue?

I'll need the venue address, access and loading arrangements, and confirmation of any sound restrictions or noise limiters. It's also useful to know when I can arrive to set up and whether there are stairs or lifts.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes. I provide my own DJ equipment, sound system, lighting and microphones for speeches or announcements. My equipment is PAT tested and I carry public liability insurance. Additional equipment can be arranged if required.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes. I can provide background music before the main DJ set and during any breaks, as agreed in advance. I'll work with you to choose music that suits the event and atmosphere.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

One that stands out is DJing on New Year's Eve aboard the Woods Silver Fleet on the Thames. A brilliant setting for a party. I've also played at The Dorchester and The Connaught in London, two of the most prestigious venues I've worked at.

What's your favourite type of event?

I enjoy events where people come ready to dance, whether that's a wedding, birthday or private party. I particularly enjoy mixed crowds with different ages and musical tastes. Finding the right balance and bringing everyone onto the dancefloor is one of the best parts of DJing.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I've been DJing for 15 years, starting with my love of hip-hop and R&B and gradually developing into an open-format DJ. Over the years I've played weddings, private parties, corporate events and Greek celebrations, building experience across different crowds, venues and musical styles. I'm also a music producer and radio presenter.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Hip-hop and soul have always been my biggest influences. Artists like Lauryn Hill have shaped the way I think about music, particularly the balance between songwriting, production and emotion. I also draw inspiration from funk, disco and Greek music, which all influence what I play and produce.

Do you DJ Greek and mixed Greek-English weddings?

Yes. I specialise in Greek and mixed Greek-English weddings and parties. I can play a full Greek set, a full English set or bring both together, depending on the crowd. I understand the traditions and music, so Greek music isn't just a token part of the evening.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I normally arrive around an hour before the event to set up and soundcheck. Most bookings are for 4 to 6 hours, although I can cover shorter or longer events, including full-day weddings. Setup and pack-down are included in my quote.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, I've DJed outdoor parties and events. I need a level, stable surface, access to power and adequate protection from rain, direct sunlight and other weather conditions. I'll discuss the setup with you beforehand to make sure everything is suitable.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Absolutely. I encourage clients to share their favourite songs, musical preferences and anything they'd rather not hear. We can discuss everything beforehand, including any special requests. On the night, I use that guidance alongside my experience of reading the room and adapting the music to the crowd.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Clients regularly mention my ability to read the room, play music that works across different ages and tastes, and keep the dancefloor busy. They also appreciate how easy I am to communicate with, both during the planning and on the day itself. My verified client reviews currently give me a 5.0 rating.

Can we discuss the music before the event?

Absolutely. I offer a call before the event to discuss your music preferences, favourite tracks, timings and anything you'd rather not hear. I'll use that information to plan the evening while leaving room to read the crowd and adapt the set on the night.
