For my setup, I need a stable, level surface (table or DJ booth) of at least 2 x 1 meters at a back-friendly working height (approx. 90-100 cm). Since I work with sensitive analog equipment, a solid surface (not a flexing floorboard) is essential. I also need two separate 230V power outlets nearby and a parking space for loading and unloading my record bags.
Information about accessibility is important (is there an elevator? Which floor is it on?), as record cases are quite heavy. I also need to know if the DJ booth is located directly next to the dance floor. A detailed map showing how to get to the delivery entrance is also very helpful.
I typically bring my own analog core setup (2 Technics 1210 turntables and a professional mixer). Upon request, I can provide my own high-quality PA system (sound system) and subtle ambient lighting for the DJ area for events up to approximately 100 people. For larger corporate events or venues, I am happy to collaborate with local technical service providers.
My concept is 'Strictly Vinyl' to maintain that special analog vibe throughout the entire evening. However, I'm happy to provide background music during the reception or dinner with hand-picked lounge, jazz, or soul records at a moderate volume. If specific songs (e.g., for the first dance) aren't available on vinyl, they can be integrated digitally upon request.
Rooftop Bars, Clubs and nice weddings
I love DJing at weddings and milestone birthdays when the hosts are consciously seeking an alternative to the digital mainstream. It's a fantastic feeling when guests walk past the DJ booth, see the cover of the latest record, and experience the music firsthand. These moments, where the music bridges the generation gap, are my favorites.
My journey began in the record shops and small bars of the Rhine-Neckar region, where I perfected my technique on the turntables. What started as a passion for collecting rare funk and soul pressings quickly developed into a professional DJ career.
The sound was musically influenced by Motown, but also by modern influences from the Neo-Soul & Funk genres, as well as danceable sounds from all over the world.
I allow approximately 60 to 90 minutes for setup and soundcheck to ensure the turntables are optimally adjusted and positioned to eliminate vibrations. I typically provide music for events lasting 2 to 4 hours – starting with relaxed soul and jazz for the reception and progressing to energetic funk and disco for the dance floor. I will flexibly adjust the exact timing to suit the flow of your event.
Absolutely, provided the conditions are right for analog equipment. I need a level, stable surface and complete protection from sun and rain (a canopy/tent). Since records can warp in direct heat, a shaded spot for my setup and record cases is essential. A power outlet nearby is also a must.
Absolutely! My repertoire includes thousands of hand-picked vinyl treasures. In a preliminary consultation, we'll define the musical framework to ensure the vibe perfectly matches your wishes. Since I play exclusively original vinyl, spontaneously searching for YouTube requests on-site isn't possible – but I guarantee a curated musical experience that maintains the overall theme of your event. I'm happy to incorporate special song requests (e.g., for the first dance) upon request.
Clients particularly appreciate the authentic charm and warm sound aesthetic. I'm often described as a DJ who doesn't just play music, but celebrates the art of DJing as a true craft. Guests love watching me 'work' on the turntables – it's often perceived as a blend of stylish entertainment and infectious dance floor energy.
A vinyl set is not just an auditory, but also a visual experience. While digital playlists often seem arbitrary, DJing with records brings with it a unique aesthetic and sense of value. The gentle crackle, the admiration of the record covers, and the genuine craftsmanship at the turntables provide conversation starters for your guests and lend your event an exclusive, nostalgic touch that is rarely found these days. It's "music you can touch."
Quite the opposite! My collection encompasses the entire golden era of funk, soul, and disco, as well as modern releases. The focus is on quality over quantity: instead of millions of generic files, I bring a selection perfectly curated for your event. This "limitation" is my greatest strength, as every track in my case is a proven guarantee for a great atmosphere. We'll discuss the direction beforehand to ensure the selection perfectly matches your taste
As a professional, my setup is designed for maximum stability. I use professional turntables known worldwide for their robustness. I also always carry spare styli and cleaning equipment. Should a record actually get scratched, I react immediately and seamlessly switch to the next track – this is part of authentic live performance and has so far been perceived by guests as a charming characteristic of a genuine live performance.
