Duo Gadjo's music is inspired by the sounds of the 20's and 30's, when swing was the thing and Paris was the place to be. Heavily influenced by the french gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt, their repertoire includes many Gypsy Jazz classics but also selections from the Great American songbook. Their version of La Vie En Rose was one of the most popular streams on Pandora and Spotify in the French Cafe Music category with over 10 million streams. They perform as a duo, trio (adding upright bass), and quartet (adding violin or accordion).

We need a minimum of 5 feet (1.5 meters) by 7 feet (2 meters) for the Duo. If outdoors we will need something to shield us from the sun.
We provide our own power (portable batteries) for up to 3 hours of performance.
We need to know what the load in location and parking instructions. We'll also need info about the access (stairs, elevator, etc,.)
We provide sound for up to 150 people. We do not supply lighting.
Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music."
We performed at the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley California for the Django Reinhardt Festival. It's a great room, not too big and not too small. We always love playing music festivals.
We love playing at all sorts of events but festivals are the most fun especially if there are other musicians.
We've been performing together for over 25 years, first in France and now primarily in the US. We do still travel and play internationally on occasion.
It's hard to name just one artist we love Django Reinhardt, Edith Piaf, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong all come to mind.
We usually arrive 60 to 90 minutes before the performance to set up depending on the venue.
We usually play 2 or 3 one hour sets with 10 minute breaks between sets
We’re happy to play outside but we ask for shade, ans a flat level surface.
We can learn specific songs before the event but we need to make sure that they are suited to our instrumentation. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them."
