Unique violin, accordion and vocal duo with 20 years experience and a vast international repertoire from Baroque to Rock, from Bavaria to Russia! An exhilarating cabaret act, they are also perfect for dancing and background music with something for guests from every nation and all the generations!

Since their first chance meeting at the Tsars Bar of the Langham Hilton Mazaika have played thousands of successful gigs everywhere from top concert halls such as the QEH and Cadogan Hall and top Cruise Lines and Hotels to cabaret hotspots such as Madame JoJos and Cafe de Paris! They’ve delighted celebrities including Sean Connery who danced to their Russian gypsy songs, Roger Moore, Sting, Hal David, Prince William, The duchess of Westminster and most recently Russell Brand (who strongly indicated it would not be the last time he would be calling upon their services!)
Their vast repertoire includes Russian folk and Gypsy, Classical, Opera, Argentine and Russian Tango, Jazz, Latin, Italian, French Chanson, Gypsy Swing, Klezmer, Viennese waltz, International Pop covers and a smattering of Arabic, Iranian, Irish, Bluegrass and Shanties. So truly something for everyone! All performed with passion, virtuosity and humour! And if its not in their repertoire they can learn almost any song or piece of music for a negotiable fee!

Mazaika are perfect for weddings, providing both background music during the drinks reception, a surprise showstopper or two between courses at the wedding breakfast and then…no matter what nation or generation your guests you can be sure Mazaika will get them on the dance floor! They will probably also get everyone singing along to Dancing Queen, Delilah, Sweet Caroline, Billie Jean, Sweet Dreams and Wonderwall, just a few of the many evergreens that Igor can pull out of his magic midi accordion. All live, no backing tracks! Song suggestions always welcome!

They have accompanied marriage proposals aboard a private jet, a gondola, the Orient Express, the London eye, a few yachts and several romantic serenades under windows!

They are also great for Corporate events, Birthdays and Anniversaries, Street Parties, Bar/Batmitzvahs, Themed events and pretty much anything else! They can perform acoustic in a very intimate setting, perhaps as an incognito pop up surprise...but they can also fill a stage of any size. They are great as a roaming duo and usually successful at taking on the spot requests.

On practicalities….they have various sound systems to suit any occasion including radio mics so they can roam even at a large function.
They are a couple and come in one car…useful to know if you are providing hospitality!
Prior to your event they are happy to discuss every aspect of the programme, including set times, amplification and dress/costume. And most importantly repertoire! Although Mazaika are experts in just turning up and going with the flow it is important to point out that they can play a full set/evening of most of the styles/nationalities they list. Making them eminently suitable for themed events and for international weddings.

A few more credentials….Mazaika have worked with notable artists including Marc Almond, Antonio Forcione, Fascinating Aida, Nitin Sawhney and Akram Kahn and Igor appeared on screen playing Russian song Dark Eyes in the David Cronenberg film Eastern Promises. Notable venues include: The QEH, The Purcell Room, St Johns Smith Square, Cadogan Hall and 3 successful runs at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, plus many Summer Festivals including Latitude, Glastonbury, Womad and Broadstairs Folk Week. They have worked as a Cabaret act on top cruise lines including Royal Carribean, Holland America, Saga Princess and Fred Olsen. They have played in most of Londons top Hotels including The Savoy, Ritz, Hiltons, The Lainsborough, Browns and the Sheraton Grand. Cabaret and Burlesque appearances include Black Cat Cabaret at Cafe de Paris, Flash Monkey, Yes Yes Yes, Dusty Limits Late night Cabaret at the Bongo Club (Edinburgh festival) and Count Indigos nights at Madame Jojos and Bethnal Green Working Mens Club.

'Hugely entertaining... the duo frequently brought the house down''**** The Scotsman [Edinburgh Festival]

'An evening of magic and passion’ The Independent.

“A lovely tenor voice…by the end of the evening the Purcell Room had become a tavern” The Independent

“Sarah and Igor MADE our Christmas dinner. They were absolutely fantastic and way exceeded anything we could have dreamed for the evening. Truly unique performers with enormous talent. Without question would book them again” Laura & Russell Brand x “

' after a decade or so in London, he has lost none of his native musical ability on accordion or as a bel canto tenor. The duo's irreverence, including introducing Harrison's virtuoso violin flourishes as if playing at the Queen Vic, and sundry comic turns, help give their musical sketches a real sense of pace. Yet for all their larking around, when the music demands gravitas and expression, it's there in spades. '**** The Herald

Their music feels like a dazzling escape into a world where people dance on tables with roses between their teeth.” ***** Tina Jackson, Metro

"Sheer heaven - stirring, passionate and highly entertaining” *****The Three Weeks review, Edinburgh Festival

“Wistful accordion… the worlds first headbanging accordionist” The Guardian

“You are the best entertainer I’ve ever seen, and I saw Elvis!!!” Audience member at Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club
