Terry began playing guitar in 1967 at the age of 10. His first teacher Sam Maratos in Clearwater, FL did not use a pick but instead played "fingerstyle" songs such as "Spanish Eyes" on a pre-war Martin dreadnaught. This was the first of 3 fingerstyle guitar influences, and this one was right off the bat.
A couple years later Terry bought a Les Paul deluxe influenced by Dickey Betts, then later a Stratocaster influenced by Richie Blackmore. Then came fingerstyle guitar influence #2 - Steve Howe of Yes playing "Mood for a Day". Next he bought a classical guitar and started to self study a Segovia classical guitar book. Then after 10 years of playing professionally from 1976 to 1986 in the Mid-west and Florida, he secured a computer job in Dallas, TX and the guitar took back seat until 1995.
In 1995 he bought his first steel string acoustic guitar and started to teach guitar lessons part time in local music store. One day a student handed over a CD “Acoustic Beatles Songs” by Greg Bennett - the light-bulb went off (influence #3) and the journey thru fingerstyle guitar was on again. Nowadays the guitar influences and favorites include: Sal DiToria, Pete Huttlinger, Mark Hanson, Laurence Juber, Gregg Bennett, Eric Schoenbrg, Gregg Carmichael, Tommy Emmanuel, Jesse Cook, Ottmar Liebert.
Also to be mentioned is loving to sing easy listening "deep cuts" from albums, the songs that did hit the air waves but still today seem fresh! CSNY, America, Poco, Beatles many more!

I bring all sound equipment, no lights.
I can provide amplified recorded music from my personal collection that fits the same as the gig (instrumental or easy listening with vocals)
Playing instrumental guitar at many nice public and private events at beautiful residences and upscale public venues such as Tarpon Yacht Club, St Pt Yacht Club, Unvisity CLub of Tampa (34th floor City One Centre bldg) The Bon Appitte, The Don Cesar, The Vinoy, Renaissance Inn at International Mall, Avila County Club, Largo Cultural Center, Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center.
My favorite events are any type of banquet in a upscale setting i.e. Mothers Day Brunch from 10a-3pm at The Renaissance Inn at Tampa International Mall.
I started giging in a Southern Rock band originals and covers, traveled throughout the mmid-west and central Florida. I am a retired document developer, software engineer and have worked for NCR, ATT, New York Life, Fidelity Information Services amoung others!
I was first influenced by Led Zep and Jimmy Page, then came Ritchie Blackmore with Deep Purple. But really big time influenced by Dicky Betts and the Allman Brothers. Then back to my roots on acoustic guitar, Tommy Emmanual, Chet Atkins, Mark Hanson and many many others. Blue Sky still a big favorite
I'm only easy going, serious and a bit of a perfectionist.
6-9pm seems to be the most common time. I will arrive 60-90 minutes before the downbeat or start time. Generally I play three 50 minute sets and take two 15 minute breaks.
I love to play outside especially during beautiful weather 65-85 degrees. There will need to be shade or an upcharge for me to bring a tent. There must be a power outlet within 25 ft or let me know to bring 75 ft extension.
I'll need 2 weeks per special request song (vocal songs only) Feel free to choose any from list.
If you review the song list you will find a wide selection of instrumentals and the format of the vocal songs are mostly Easy Listening.
