USA Jazz Club Antwerp: We were looking for a stylish band that could still create a 'festive' atmosphere, so we ended up with FÊTE LAWEIT. The honest videos we found gave us the impression that this is a neat project. Nice original arrangements, neat performance, enthusiasm on stage and varied repertoire with some 'not everyday' pieces. A bis number was inevitable to close this festive concert.

We have played at the Gentse Feesten (Sint-Baafs Plein), with is 1 of the largest city festivals in Europe.
Festivals and swing/dance events
We're all studying at KASK Gent (Conservatory of music Ghent), that's we're we formed and started writing arrangements en began gigging togheter.
Nat King Cole, his style is a big influence for our music. But also artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Count Basie, ... all these amazing artists form the base of our group.
In essence, the music are "covers". However, all the music has been arranged by drummer and bandleader (Jente), into newly arrangements and fresh "Fête Laweit" arrangements.
This means that you get all this great music, in our own unique style.
We normally arrive 2-3 hours before start hour. We either play 1 full set of 90 minutes or 2 sets of 45 minutes.
Yes, only if we're protected of possible rainfall (and if the PA-system is good).
We can add 1 requested song, but we have a actual "show" that we perform, so we keep it to max 1 request.
They describe it mostly as: "a magical musical journey through time, for 1 evening I feel like in the roaring 20's (in a modern jacket)".
We want to make people, whether they know anything about jazz music or not, dance to this great music.
If we make 1 person discover this style, or even dance to it, then we have a good gig!
