Get Back – Perth’s Premier Live Music Duo
Get Back is a seasoned acoustic duo from Perth, performing timeless hits from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s — with a sound that feels like a full band.
Featuring lifelong friends and experienced performers Tim and John, Get Back brings beautiful harmonies, expert musicianship, and a genuine love of live music to every show. With guitar, bass, and shared lead vocals, they deliver a rich, polished sound that fills the room — without overwhelming it.
Their setlist is a nostalgic journey through the golden years of music, including:
• Beatles favourites
• 60s rock ’n’ roll and Motown
• 70s and 80s classics
• Dancefloor hits and singalong anthems
• A few heartfelt ballads for good measure
Get Back is ideal for birthday parties, weddings, lifestyle village events, anniversaries, and special celebrations. They tailor each performance to suit the crowd — adjusting volume, taking requests, and reading the room to keep the energy just right.
All equipment is provided, including a professional PA and lighting setup. Setup is quick and tidy, and the duo is always punctual, friendly, and easy to work with.
If you’re after great music, good vibes, and a show that gets people smiling, singing, and dancing — Get Back delivers.

We just need access to a standard power outlet and cover if the event is outdoors and rain is forecast.
We don’t have any strict requirements and are happy to work with clients to suit the space and setup. It’s always helpful to know in advance if there are any access issues or special considerations at the venue.
Yes, we’re fully self-contained. We bring our own professional PA system and lighting to every gig.
Yes, we’re happy to play music before, after, and between our sets. We can work with the client’s preferences or choose well-loved tracks that keep the energy flowing and the crowd engaged.
We bring our own PA, lighting and all required gear to deliver a polished, professional setup. All we need from the venue is a single power outlet and enough space for two performers. Our setup is tidy and efficient, and we’re experienced at adjusting both sound and lighting to suit everything from small rooms to larger function spaces.
It’s hard to choose, to be honest — we genuinely love every gig and form great connections with the people we play for. One standout was a riverside wedding for a mature couple on a summer’s night. We learned two tricky special songs for their bridal waltz and nailed them, then played a last-minute request for the bride’s 100-year-old father, who got up and did a little dance of his own. It was a magical night to be part of. Another favourite was a New Year’s Eve gig at a yacht club — the crowd was electric. At midnight, we invited a young boy up to play his bagpipes, and we accompanied him live. It gelled beautifully, and the crowd loved it.
We love playing at all sorts of events, but birthdays, wedding receptions, and Christmas parties are always awesome. Everyone’s there to celebrate, the energy is high, and we love being part of that fun, party atmosphere.
We’ve been playing together since school, and over the years we’ve both performed in a variety of popular Perth bands. What started as a shared passion grew into regular gigs through word of mouth, and we’ve since played at weddings, parties, and community events across Perth and beyond. These days, we’re really enjoying playing as a duo — it’s a great fit for us and for the kinds of events we love.
We’re both heavily influenced by The Beatles — as a band and as individual artists — and they’d easily be our favourite artists of all time. John also has a soft spot for The Eagles and Creedence, and we both love classic rock ’n’ roll. As for the greatest song ever, it’s hard to go past a great Beatles track, but we also love songs like Hallelujah, I’m Yours, Oh! Darling, Tiny Dancer, and old-school crowd-pleasers like Green Door.
We’re seasoned performers who know how to read a crowd and keep the energy just right. Our harmonies, song choices, and warm stage presence consistently get great feedback — guests often book us again for their own events. We’re easy to work with and always aim to make the night feel special.
We normally arrive around 2 hours before the performance to set up. Our typical format is 3 x 45‑minute sets over a 3‑hour period, but we’re very flexible and happy to adjust set lengths or play longer if needed.
Yes, we’re happy to perform outside. We just ask for suitable cover if the weather is an issue to protect our equipment, and access to a nearby power point.
We’ve built our repertoire around songs that really connect with audiences, and we’re experienced at reading the crowd and keeping the energy just right on the night. We always welcome and take on your input when choosing songs from our setlist, and we’re also open to any special song requests before the event.
Previous clients often describe us as easy to work with, lots of fun and great value for money. They tell us their guests love the high quality of our sound including our harmonies, and they’re always keen to have us back or book us for their own events.
We bring a polished, feel-good set that’s tailored to the crowd and the occasion. Our harmonies, song choices, and easy stage presence consistently get great feedback. Whether it’s a laid-back afternoon or a lively evening, we know how to read the room and keep the energy just right.
