About / Biography

Glenda Allaway is an award-winning harpist recognised for her outstanding musicianship. As a full time professional harpist, she performs across the country for solo recitals, orchestral engagements and corporate functions and weddings alike.

Passionate about bringing the harp to a wider audience, Glenda is frequently praised for making the harp sound modern and current. Having studied at both Chetham's School of Music and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, she pairs her classical training from world-renowned harpist, Gabriella Dall’Olio, with a love of exploring new genres to continually take harp playing to new heights.

Glenda's work has taken her to some of the UK’s most exciting venues including the Royal Albert Hall, the Queen’s rowbarge — the Gloriana -- and Birmingham Symphony Hall. Some more adventurous performances include a residency in Heathrow Terminal 5 working with La Prairie Skincare and a Thunderbirds themed performance in collaboration with ITV.

Glenda's experience in a wide range of genres allows her to tailor her playing to suit your unique style. She is at home playing the majestic concert pedal harp, intimate celtic harp or edgy electric harp. Her current repertoire includes everything from Mozart to Gershwin, Debussy to David Guetta, and everything in between! Whether you want to work alongside a professional musician to craft a set list that is meaningful to you, or you want to leave the song selection in expert hands, Glenda is the perfect harpist to complement your event.
