The Hungarian National Gypsy Orchestra is one of Hungary’s leading professional Gypsy orchestras, dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich heritage of authentic Hungarian Gypsy music with audiences worldwide.
Led by Johan János, Artistic Director and Concertmaster, recipient of the Hungarian Silver Cross of Merit, the orchestra features exceptional musicians with decades of international performing experience.

One of our most memorable performances was our 30th Anniversary Gala Concert at the House of Traditions (Hagyományok Háza) in Budapest. The concert was completely sold out and celebrated the rich heritage of Hungarian Gypsy music. Performing in such a prestigious venue before a full audience was an unforgettable experience for both the orchestra and our guests.

The Hungarian National Gypsy Orchestra continues a musical tradition that has represented Hungarian Gypsy music for decades. Under the artistic direction of violinist Johan János, the orchestra performs throughout Hungary and internationally at festivals, theatres, embassies, luxury hotels, corporate events and private celebrations. Our musicians have devoted their lives to preserving this unique musical heritage while presenting it to modern audiences around the world.
Our orchestra is inspired by the legendary Hungarian Gypsy violin masters, including Bihari János, Hubay Jenő, Liszt Ferenc and the generations of great Hungarian Gypsy musicians who helped shape this unique tradition. Rather than following a single artist, we are dedicated to preserving an entire musical heritage. If we had to choose one timeless masterpiece, it would be Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2, a work that perfectly captures the passion, virtuosity and spirit of Hungarian music.
