One gig that will always stand out for me was at The Park Hotel in Blackpool in August 2023. When I arrived, the compère told me they could be a tough crowd and that I'd struggle to get them dancing.

I opened with Rockin' All Over The World by Status Quo and they were up dancing almost immediately. From there, the night just seemed to build and build. By the time I finished with an encore of Sweet Caroline, practically the whole room was on the dancefloor.

It was one of those nights where everything just clicked. More than anything, it gave me real confidence in my ability to read a room, trust my instincts and choose the right songs for the audience in front of me.

I still get a buzz thinking about that night. It took me quite a while to come down from it!

My favourite events are the ones where the crowd is up for a good night and wants to get involved. I love interacting with an audience, having a bit of fun with them and feeding off their energy. That's when you get the very best out of me and the night can really take on a life of its own.

I started performing in 1998 at the age of 20, singing with a band called Sense, which later became Rush Hour. After my time with the band I moved into solo singing, as well as gaining experience hosting karaoke and DJing.

In 2010 I decided to concentrate fully on performing as a solo vocalist and I've never looked back. Since then I've performed at pubs, clubs, private parties, weddings and events across the North West, building up many years of experience entertaining all kinds of audiences.

Billy Joel is probably my all-time favourite artist, but I've also been hugely influenced by artists such as David Bowie and Elton John. In truth, I take inspiration from all the music I perform. I love discovering what makes a great song work, regardless of the artist, genre or decade, and that variety has helped shape the type of performer I am today.

I don't believe in simply standing behind a microphone and working through a set list. I like to interact with the audience, read the room and adapt the night as it develops. Every crowd is different, so no two performances are ever quite the same. My aim is simple – great songs, plenty of personality and an atmosphere that gets people involved and leaves them with a night to remember.

I usually perform either 2 x 45 minute or 3 x 30 minute sets. I normally allow around 45-60 minutes before the performance to load in, set up and sound check.

Yes, I'm happy to perform outside, weather permitting. I require a safe, level performance area with suitable cover from the weather and access to a nearby power supply.

Absolutely. I'm always happy to discuss musical preferences beforehand and take requests where possible. I usually choose the running order myself on the night, as this allows me to read the audience and adapt the set as the evening develops.

The comments I receive most often are about the variety of music, audience interaction and the atmosphere I create. People often tell me they enjoyed being able to sing along and dance to songs they know, and that they loved how involved I was with the audience.
