I need a quiet, flat space with seating for the guests and a small area (around 2m²) from which I can officiate. If the group is large or the ceremony takes place outdoors, I recommend providing a sound system with at least one microphone (wireless if possible). A lectern or music stand is appreciated but not essential.
I need to know the exact location, accessibility (parking or drop-off spot), and if there is a sound system available on site. If musicians or a DJ are involved, I also appreciate knowing where they’ll be placed so I can coordinate with them.
I do have my own portable sound system for smaller events, but I always prefer working with professional sound technicians or DJs when available, especially for larger gatherings. It ensures the best quality and peace of mind for everyone.
I don’t provide music myself, but I’m happy to collaborate with your musician or DJ to make sure everything flows smoothly — from the couple’s entrance to the closing moments. I also provide a detailed ceremony script to help with musical timing if needed.
One of the most magical ceremonies I’ve celebrated took place in a medieval château in the Dordogne region — three languages, two cultures, a surprise poem from the grandmother, and a thunderstorm that waited exactly until the kiss to break! Unforgettable.
Weddings, of course! Especially those where cultures and languages intertwine. I love crafting meaningful, heartfelt moments that bring people together — whether it’s an intimate elopement or a big celebration with 200 guests.
I created my very first ceremony in 2001 — from Berlin, for a wedding in France. Then life (and four children!) brought a few pauses along the way, but I fully returned to ceremony writing in 2017 and have been dedicated to it ever since. I’ve since officiated weddings all over France and Europe, in French, English and German. My background as a writer and translator helps me craft ceremonies that are as personal, heartfelt and unique as the couples themselves.
As a celebrant and writer, I’m inspired by storytellers — those who know how to put emotions into words. I’ve been deeply influenced by French chanson, German poetry, and theatrical texts. Barbara, Molière, Zola, Brel, Baudelaire and even the humour of Raymond Devos have shaped my way of writing and feeling.
One of the most powerful moments I’ve witnessed wasn’t on a stage, but during a wedding in the rain. The couple insisted on staying outside. Guests huddled under umbrellas, and when the bride read her vows, soaking wet but radiant, everyone cried and laughed at the same time. That was real. That was art.
I usually arrive 60 to 90 minutes before the ceremony to check the setup, sound, and seating, and to coordinate with musicians or vendors if needed. A typical ceremony lasts around 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your content, readings, rituals, and any surprises you may have planned!
Absolutely! Outdoor ceremonies are always special. I just require a flat, quiet space with shade or cover in case of strong sun or rain, and ideally a sound system if the group is large or the location open-air.
Your ceremony is tailor-made. You are fully involved in the process — from the choice of tone and rituals to the inclusion of readings, music, and personal anecdotes. I write every word for and with you. Nothing is imposed, and nothing is generic.
Clients often describe my ceremonies as moving, sincere, meaningful, and elegant — with just the right balance of emotion, humour, and authenticity. Many say their guests thought I had known them for years!
