The music of the concert harp is beautiful, elegant and suitable for a wide variety of occasions. Laurel has been enchanting audiences with her lovely music at weddings, receptions, dinners, teas, cocktail parties, grand openings and memorial services for many years. Her huge repertoire ranges from classical to classic rock, Broadway to Bollywood, standards to contemporary hits. Laurel is also a classically trained singer and can accompany herself or other performers.

I require a space of approximately 4 feet X 8 feet on a level, dry surface. If outdoors, I must be in a shaded location.
I need to know where I will be located within the venue, and if there will be assistance with moving the harp if I'm in a location far away from where I unload my equipment.
I provide a small battery-operated amplifier to boost the sound of. my harp if needed.
No
I have performed for all sorts of wonderful events, but stand-outs include playing in the orchestra when Ray Charles performed in Dallas, and playing at a dinner party honoring Van Cliburn.
I love playing for all sorts of events, but I especially love playing for funeral visitations and memorial services. Music has the ability to sooth the soul, and the music of the harp is especially healing.
I played and/or sang for gigs while I was still in college. My first full time gig was playing nightly in the lobby of the Westin Hotel Galleria. That lead to private events such as dinners and cocktail parties. My big break came when I was featured in The Dallas Morning News and the book "Planning a Wedding in Dallas". My career took off and I have been performing regularly ever since.
The two singers that most influenced me as a child were Yma Sumac and Julie Andrews. I only listened to classical music as a child, but I wanted to fit in with everyone by the time I was in middle school. My best friend loved R&B and Motown, so I became a big fan of Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, The Spinners, and other amazing groups. I listened to pop music all the time on my radio, and loved to dance to all the latest hits. I still love classical music, but I also enjoy K-Pop, Bollywood, Tango and other genres.
I generally arrive at least 30 minutes before a performance to set up and tune.
I'm happy to perform outdoors, but I must be on a flat level surface and in the shade.
I send everyone my extensive song list, but I'm also open to learning special requests as long as sheet music is available and I have at least two weeks notice.
Previous customers would describe my music as beautiful, romantic and angelic.
