My technical requirements are very simple. I need a flat, safe performance area free from wet surfaces, debris, loose cords, or other hazards. I’m comfortable performing in spaces of many different sizes, from intimate settings to larger stages. For music, I can bring my own music and Bluetooth speaker, use the venue’s sound system, or coordinate directly with a DJ, band, or sound technician.
I’d like to know the venue type and location, whether the performance will be indoors or outdoors, the approximate size and ceiling height of the performance area, and any important details about the space or access. I’d also appreciate information about parking and the available sound system. If a DJ, band, or sound technician will be involved, please let me know so we can coordinate. If a costume change is planned, I’ll also need an appropriate private dressing area.
I can provide a Bluetooth speaker and play music from my own device if needed, but I do not provide lighting equipment. If your venue has its own sound system, I’m happy to use it instead. I can also coordinate directly with your DJ, band, or sound technician and provide my music digitally in advance when appropriate. Please let me know what sound equipment will be available and whether the speakers will be located in the performance area so we can arrange the best setup for your event.
I don’t need a lot of space to perform and can adapt to a variety of venue sizes. If you’d like me to use props such as a veil, fans, or sword, please let me know the size and layout of the performance area so I can plan accordingly. Most importantly, the performance area must be flat, clean, and safe, with enough room to move freely and no hazards such as wet surfaces, debris, or loose cords.
My favorite venue is Al-Masri Egyptian Restaurant in San Francisco, a beloved gathering place for the local dance community. It was the first place I ever performed with live music, and it’s somewhere I love returning to. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of dancing with many wonderful bands there, and everyone, from the guests to the musicians and waitstaff, has always made me feel at home.
My favorite nights are when the band plays all of my favorite songs in a row! There’s nothing quite like a 30-minute show filled with music from the Egyptian Golden Age of film, with an improvised taqsim or two along the way. Between the oud, drums, singing, dancing, delicious Egyptian food, and the lively atmosphere, the experience is beyond compare. Those are the nights that remind me why I love performing.
My favorite events are the ones with an audience that loves to interact! It doesn’t have to be a large crowd—just a fun-loving one that enjoys music, dance, and being part of the experience.
One of my favorite memories is performing at San Jose’s Christmas in the Park, where many children were sitting in the audience with their parents and grandparents. Seeing the sparkle in their eyes as they watched the show was absolutely delightful. I love enchanting children with dance and sharing that sense of joy and wonder with audiences of all ages!
I’ve been dancing since childhood, and over the years my love of dance has grown to include the music, history, and culture surrounding it.
About three years ago, I began studying with my current teacher, who one day asked if I felt ready to perform with live music. I was thrilled, and a little terrified! The stage fright soon disappeared, and I became hooked on dancing with live musicians.
I became a regular performer at Al-Masri Egyptian Restaurant, a charming San Francisco restaurant with live music on weekends, where I’ve enjoyed improvising with different musicians, connecting with audiences, and growing as an entertainer.
Eventually, I decided to start taking paid gigs—and my seven adorable rescue cats provide plenty of motivation! 🐈⬛ I like to say I dance so they can live the good life.
I love making every performance feel personal. Rather than relying on the same set routine, I enjoy improvising and responding to the music, the atmosphere, and the people in the room. My style combines old-school cabaret charm, musicality, sparkling vintage costumes, finger cymbals, and plenty of audience interaction. I’m equally happy performing for a room full of people or enchanting a small group of children! Most of all, I want guests to feel like they’re part of the experience—not simply watching a show.
Setup is minimal, as I typically arrive in costume and ready to perform (unless otherwise specified). I generally arrive 20–30 minutes before the scheduled performance time to check in, familiarize myself with the space, and coordinate with the host or staff, if needed. Performance times range from 10–30 minutes for most shows.
Yes! I’m happy to perform outdoors, provided there is a safe, clean, level performance area and suitable weather / temperature conditions. For safety, I cannot perform on grass, gravel, hillsides, wet or uneven surfaces, or areas with debris or other hazards. A flat, clear, secure performance surface is required.
I’ve been described as musical, exciting, and a joy to watch. I especially love hearing that audiences can see how much I enjoy the music and performing for them.
Absolutely! I’m happy to tailor my performance to suit your event and audience. Clients are welcome to request particular music or styles, as well as costume colors and props such as veil, fans, sword, or finger cymbals. I love working with you to create a show that complements the atmosphere and makes your celebration feel unique.
More than anything, I want people to have fun! I love creating performances that feel joyful, personal, and a little magical. I enjoy interacting with the audience and responding to the atmosphere in the room, so guests feel like they’re part of the experience rather than simply watching a show. Whether I’m entertaining a room full of adults or enchanting children, my goal is for everyone to leave smiling and with a wonderful memory of the occasion.
