Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

What I bring: A full professional sound and lighting rig — DJ booth, PA speakers, dance-floor and motion lighting, wired and wireless microphones, and lyric screens for karaoke. Fully insured.
What I need from the venue:
• Access to standard electrical outlets near the performance area
• Space for a DJ booth, two tripod speakers, and lighting
• Setup access about an hour before start time is ideal — for smaller events I can be show-ready in 20–30 minutes
• For outdoor events: a covered, dry area for the equipment
• For the Spirit of Elvis show: a small private space to change into costume

What information do you require about a venue?

To give you an accurate quote and a smooth event, I need:
• Venue name and full address
• Indoor or outdoor (for outdoor events, the rain plan and covered space for equipment)
• Event date, start and end times, and when I can get in to set up

• Where I'd set up in the room, and how far it is from the load-in door (stairs or elevator, if any)
• Electrical outlets near the performance area
• Expected guest count
• The day's rough timeline — guest arrival, dinner, speeches, special moments
• A day-of contact person and their phone number
• Any venue rules I should know — volume limits or curfews, and whether a fog machine is allowed

For weddings, I'll also send my planning questionnaire so the timeline, names, and must-play songs are all nailed down before the day.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes. Every booking includes a complete professional sound system (PA speakers, wired and wireless microphones, DJ booth) and dance-floor lighting at no extra charge. Uplighting for the room (12 fixtures) is available as an add-on.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes. Music before, between, and after my sets is seamless. As a DJ, I keep the room entertained with background and dinner music, guest requests, and announcements throughout the event — so with the Spirit of Elvis show, there's never dead air: I DJ around the show as well as perform it.

How far do you travel?

I’m based in Waupun, Wisconsin and regularly serve events within about 100 miles. Longer trips and festival dates are possible — travel is worked into the quote, so you get one clear price.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

The origin story: your very first Elvis performance at an assisted living home in Milwaukee at age 24 — and you still say those senior-community shows are some of your favorite work.
•
The career moment: meeting DJ Fontana — Elvis's own first drummer — along the way.
•
Best venue by loyalty: Chub's Pub — seven years of monthly karaoke nights. That's family, not a venue.
A draft if you want it:
Best gig: my first Spirit of Elvis show, performed at an assisted living home in Milwaukee when I was 24. The residents' reaction that day is why, 31+ years later, senior-community shows are still some of my favorite work. Best venue: Chub's Pub — my karaoke home for seven years of monthly nights and counting.

What's your favourite type of event?

Weddings are hard to beat — there's nothing like a full dance floor of family and friends celebrating together. But my Spirit of Elvis shows at senior communities might be my personal favorite: watching residents light up, sing along, and relive great memories is something special. And I'll never turn down a good karaoke night — seven years monthly at my home venue and it still feels fresh.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I started performing at 24, with a Spirit of Elvis show at an assisted living home in Milwaukee — and I was hooked. An experienced Elvis performer mentored me early on, and over the years I've been lucky enough to meet people like DJ Fontana, Elvis's original drummer.
Thirty-one years later, MAC Daddy Entertainment is my full-time craft: wedding DJ and MC work, karaoke hosting with a 40,000+ song catalog, and the Spirit of Elvis show — early-years and Vegas-years sets with requests and a meet & greet. I've played hundreds of weddings, parties, festivals, fairs, and senior-community shows across Wisconsin, including a monthly karaoke night at the same venue for seven years. It's still the best job in the world: more than you expected, all that you need.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Influences: Elvis Presley above all — I've performed his music for over 20 years. Also the greats from my country legends set: Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Conway Twitty, Kenny Rogers, and George Strait, plus the 1950s rock & roll pioneers I grew up on.
Favourite artist: Elvis Presley. There's the King, and then there's everybody else.
Greatest song of all time: "If I Can Dream" — Elvis pouring everything he had into one performance. It still gives me chills.

What makes MAC Daddy Entertainment different?

You’re not hiring a playlist — you’re hiring a performer with 31+ years of experience who reads the room, takes requests, keeps the timeline moving, and treats your event like it’s the only one on the calendar.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

Setup: About 1 hour before start time for weddings and full productions; smaller shows can be set and sound-checked in 20–30 minutes. I'm always set before your first guest arrives.
Performance times:
• Wedding DJ packages: up to 4, 6, or 8 hours (Silver / Gold / Platinum)
• Party & event DJ: up to 4 hours standard
• Karaoke hosting: typically 4-hour nights (shorter by arrangement)
• Spirit of Elvis show: 1-hour shows (perfect for senior communities and special events) up to full-evening performances with multiple sets

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes — I perform outdoors regularly at festivals, fairs, and community events. All I ask is a covered, dry area for the equipment, access to power, and a weather backup plan for rain.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Clients have a big say. Before weddings, my planning questionnaire captures your must-play songs, do-not-play list, and the moments that matter — then I build the night around your taste, not a fixed set list. On the night, I take requests throughout (my library runs 50,000+ songs), and for karaoke the singers pick their own songs from a 40,000+ catalog. The Spirit of Elvis show has its classic set list, but requests are always welcome — and I read the room and adjust as the night goes.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

The words clients use again and again: professional, fun, and easy to work with. Couples mention the dance floor staying full all night, that I read the room and play what their crowd actually wants, and how clear the communication is from the first call to the last dance. For the Spirit of Elvis show, venues and families say the residents and guests are still talking about it long after — that one means the most to me.

Can you combine DJ service with the Spirit of Elvis show?

Yes. A popular option is dinner/background music and DJ hosting around a Spirit of Elvis performance, so the whole event stays seamless — music, announcements, the show, and dancing afterward.

Can karaoke be added to a wedding or party?

Yes. Karaoke can be booked on its own or added to a DJ event, with 40,000+ songs, lyric screens, request slips, and hosting that keeps the rotation moving.
