Since acquiring his own recording equipment in 2019, O JAY 97 SA has also continued to develop his music independently, collaborate with other artists and build his catalogue. His experience covers live performances, music events, collaborations and entertainment showcases.

I have been influenced by some of South Africa's most respected Hip Hop artists, including Cassper Nyovest, Reason, PdotO, Emtee and Kwesta. Their different approaches to lyricism, storytelling, creativity and performance have helped shape my own musical journey and encouraged me to develop my own identity as an artist.
My favourite artist is Reason, whose versatility, lyricism and ability to deliver meaningful music have been a major inspiration to me.
My choice for the greatest song of all time is “Hayina” by Kwesta. The song represents the kind of South African Hip Hop that connects strong lyricism, personality and storytelling with a memorable sound.

I normally require approximately 30–60 minutes for setup and soundcheck before the performance. Performance times can vary depending on the event and booking, with typical sets ranging from 30 to 90 minutes.
I am flexible with performance schedules and can work with the event organizer to agree on suitable setup, soundcheck and performance times in advance. 🎤

Yes, O JAY 97 SA is happy to perform at outdoor events, festivals and open-air venues, provided that suitable sound, power, staging and basic weather protection are available. Performance arrangements can be discussed with the event organizer in advance.
