About / Biography

Paul Bach is an award-winning illusionist, comedy magician and mentalist based in Barcelona, performing at premium private and corporate events worldwide.

His genre is Stand-Up Magic: a fusion of stand-up comedy and modern illusion, built around intelligent humour and constant audience interaction. Guests do not simply watch the magic happen; it happens in their hands and is tailored to the people, occasion and atmosphere of the room.

Paul is a national champion in the art of illusion, a consultant for America's Got Talent, a resident of Comedy Club Petersburg, and a finalist at the Wedding Awards Russia. His solo European tour played to sold-out rooms in Valencia, Alicante, Madrid, Barcelona, Porto, Lisbon, Paris and Belgrade.

Clients include Cartier, Dior, Bvlgari, Mercedes-Benz, Nike, Coca-Cola, Xiaomi, Art Basel, Four Seasons and The Ritz-Carlton.

Available formats include:

• A 25-minute interactive stage show for the whole room
• Close-up and walkaround magic during receptions, cocktails or banquet breaks
• A structured parlor show for private rooms and mid-size audiences
• Incognito Illusionist: Paul attends as an ordinary guest before the surprise reveal
• Bespoke branded routines, wedding effects, themed acts and an optional 18+ comedy magic show

Every performance is adapted to the audience. Corporate routines can be built around a company's product, values or internal references, while private-event material can incorporate the people and stories at the heart of the occasion.

Paul performs in English and Russian, travels internationally as standard, manages his own logistics and has delivered more than 1,000 events.

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

Close-up magic is fully self-contained and needs no stage, sound or lighting. The stage show requires a minimum 3m × 2m performance area, a wireless headset or lavalier microphone, basic front lighting, audio playback capability and a small table. Setup takes approximately 30 minutes and strike takes 15 minutes.

What information do you require about a venue?

Please provide the venue address, access and loading instructions, parking information, performance-area dimensions, the event schedule, the on-site technical contact and the available soundcheck time.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

For the stage show, the venue or client should provide a wireless headset or lavalier microphone, basic front lighting and a system for playing cue audio. Close-up performances are completely self-contained.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

No. This is a magician and mentalist performance rather than a DJ service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

One of the strongest experiences was the sold-out European Stand-Up Magic tour, which reached audiences in eight cities including Paris, Lisbon, Madrid and Barcelona. Performing for premium clients at venues such as Four Seasons and The Ritz-Carlton has also been a highlight.

What's your favourite type of event?

Corporate events and premium private celebrations are ideal because the performance can be customised around the people, company, product or occasion. The best events are those where audience interaction becomes part of the story.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

Paul started performing magic at the age of five and has now worked professionally for more than 20 years. He has delivered over 1,000 events worldwide, become a national champion in illusion, consulted for America's Got Talent and developed original effects used by professional magicians.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

The performance is influenced more by modern stand-up comedy, contemporary illusion, theatre, technology and audience psychology than by any single musical artist. The aim is to make magic feel current, intelligent and personal.

What languages do you perform in?

English and Russian.

Do you travel internationally?

Yes. Paul is based in Barcelona and regularly performs across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the USA. He manages his own travel and equipment logistics.

Can you issue invoices?

Yes. Paul is registered as self-employed in Spain and can issue invoices to EU and international clients.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

For a stage show, setup takes around 30 minutes and strike takes 15 minutes. The standard performance is 25 minutes, with an option for two 25-minute blocks. Close-up magic is flexible from 30 to 120 minutes. Paul arrives early and coordinates timing with the event team.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, provided there is protection from rain and strong wind, suitable shade in hot conditions, a safe level performance area and the required sound and lighting support for a stage show. Close-up magic is especially flexible outdoors.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Client input is central to the performance. Routines can be personalised around the couple, company, product, occasion, internal references or specific guests. The core professional repertoire remains structured, while selected moments are developed specifically for each event.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Professional, reliable, genuinely funny, confident and highly interactive. Clients often highlight the strong audience connection, precise preparation, charismatic delivery and the way each show is adapted to the room rather than presented as a one-size-fits-all act.

Can the show be personalised?

Yes. Customisation is central to the offer. Routines can be built around a couple, company, product, occasion, internal references or specific guests.

What audience size is suitable?

The formats work for intimate groups from around 10 guests through to stage audiences of 1,000 or more.

Is the show suitable for children?

Yes. Material can be adapted for all ages. A separate 18+ version is also available for adult audiences who want sharper comedy.
