Ndlala’s music incorporates Afro influences through traditional rhythms, grooves, and melodic phrasing, which are then layered with jazz fusion’s harmonic richness and improvisational solos. His collaborations with South African jazz legends, such as Winston Mankunku Ngozi, have further enriched his artistry, enabling him to authentically infuse local musical traditions into his compositions and live arrangements.
During live shows, Ndlala is joined by a talented ensemble—including trumpet, saxophone, piano, guitar, and drums—who contribute to the energetic interplay and improvisation typical of jazz fusion, while also honoring the roots and pulse of Afro music. This results in performances that are both soulful and rhythmically captivating, inviting audiences into a vibrant musical journey that celebrates the best of both worlds.
