MARK who originally hails from the tiny Caribbean island of Barbados, has been a professional recording artist, producer and musician for several years. He has garnered international recognition throughout his music career not only as a singer and dynamic stage performer but also as a songwriter .
Mark grew up performing at various events with his family and studied music while attending The Alleyne School in rural St. Andrew Barbados as a teenager. At the age of 21, he won the MSC Award for Male Vocalist of the Year as front man for Barbadian music group Promise and later went on to become keyboardist/ vocalist of top Caribbean soca group Krosfyah.
Mark signed his first recording contract with Nashville independent label Gotee Records in 1996 with reggae group Christafari and his group went on to debut at #7 on Billboard reggae Charts as well as selling over 200,000 copies of their Valley of Decision album worldwide. In 1998 due to business and creative differences in the group, the majority of the band ( including Mark) went on to form the band Temple Yard which also debuted at # 8 on Billboard Reggae Charts worldwide with their self-titled CD. This CD received rave reviews in the music industry from both radio and print media.
In 2000 Mark relocated from Nashville Tennessee to Atlanta Georgia where within a few years he accepted a position and eventually served for over ten years as a music and creative arts director for a large church. There he provided mentorship, training and development to young musicians and artists. From writing and producing theater productions to developing a music school, he is also known as a music producer and session keyboardist, with a long list of reggae notables and collaborations with various other artists to his credit. very difficult to say. I have represented the USA at a special concert commemorating the 1st anniversary of the US embassy bombing in Kenya. there was so much love from the 10,000 strong audience. however we also love intimate venues where we can really interact up close and personal with patrons
we are open to most events from private parties to festival stages, however we are best known for our piano bar singalong performances
I started gigging when I was about 18 with various bands when I lived on the island of Barbados. I also toured by doing performances in various Caribbean islands including Jamaica and Dominica. I also was a session musician for various reggae notables from Jamaica as their touring keyboardists. From the vocal trio Culture feat Joseph Hill to the legendary Eek A Mouse. I also performed for both the 1997 Olympics in Atlanta as well as former president Bill Clinton’s New England Inaugural Ball in 1996. I’ve been working extensively for various cruise ship companies.
our influences are everyone from Leon Russell to Lionel Ritchie.Nat king Cole to Elton John. For me one of the greatest songs of all time is “ My Love Does It Good” by Paul Mc Cartney & Wings
