Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

A small-mediun sized space preferably close to a power outlet however I have long extension cables should the outlet be farther then 10-15 feet away from where the setup is. Wifi/Internet Connection access is preferable but can play without one if I know ahead of time that one is not available.

What information do you require about a venue?

Address of the venue and if there is a special load/unload location for equipment as well as any parking restrictions andor designations for us. If there are any noise ordinances or sound issues for the venue.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes I have all of my own sound and performance equipment and can bring simple dance floor lighting if requested. All equipment and performance gear looks professional and any carrying bags and carts are out of site or taken back to the car until the end of the show.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

I do play break music between sets, on a quick break, or some other unforseen issue that causes me to have to stop singing during a set so that there is no dead air. I do not like to take breaks especially if the guests are enjoying the music and can play straight, for up to 4 hours if I am singing properly, but when I do take 1 or 2 breaks they are no longer then 5 to 10 minutes tops. You are paying me to entertain not eat, drink, or socialize.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

In 2011 I opened for Brantley Gilbert in Rome, GA to 5000 Brantley Gilbert fans in a packed to capacity local venue. I did an acoustic 1 hour set and even though I am a Country Singer I ended my show with Edwin McCain's "I'll Be". I can tell you that moment has been burned into my permanent memory because as far as I could see in that concert hall were 1000's of Lighters or phone lights swaying while they sang along with me. Amazing feeling being able to move people with music, nothing else like it. Over the years and moving back down to Florida I can truly say that I have come leaps and bounds vocally and performance wise since that night and love every chance I get to perform and entertain people with music.

What's your favourite type of event?

I really don't have one favorite type of event. As long as everyone, or at least the majority of the crowd, I am entertaining, at the venue I am playing at, are enjoying themselves, that is all that matters to me. July 5th of this year I entertained a family in Ocala, FL, thinking it was going to be a big house party and it ended up being just the gentleman that booked me, his wife, along with their sons, daughters, and their husband/wives, and their grandkids. The last hour and 30 minutes of my show it was just him and his wife sitting on their comfortable outdoor couch by the pool requeting and enjoying the music. Probably one of the most rewarding and itimate show,s I have ever done.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

My first time on a real stage singing with a real band was when I was in the Navy back in 1990-1998. We were visiting Subic Bay, Phillipines and on the main strip/drag there are tons of bars, food places, shops, ect. We went into a Country bar and my buddies challenged me to get up and sing with the band, since I already sang to my self all the time on the ship. Friends in Low Places was the song and I was hooked from that moment. Shortly after getting out of the Navy in 1998, I started writing lyrics and performing and have been doing it ever since.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Brad Paisley, Garth Brooks, Brooks and Dunn, Pink Floyd, Elton John, The Beatles, to name a few of a very long list. Favorite artist is a tough one to nail down to just one but Brad Paisley, Eric Church, and Cody Johnson are all right there at the top. No such thing as a single greatest song of all time but I can say that one of the greatest performances, imo, of all time, was Chris Stapleton's National Anthem for SuperBowl 57, that performance will never get old or fade in any way shape or form for me, no matter how many times I watch, listen, or play it.

Do you play an Instrument?

Unfortunately no I do not play an instrument. My shows are all done with High Qualilty Backing Tracks, not karaoke unless I get a request for a song or songs I can sing and do not already have a track for. I can however, with enough notice, get an acoustic guitarist to play with me for a special event.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

It usually takes me about 30 to 45 minutes to setup. I generally don't like to take breaks, most of my shows are between 3 and 4 hours, and if I do take any breaks, it is usually 1 and for 10 minutes tops. To me entertaining is what I am there for, and keeping the music, and enjoyment going, is the most important thing. I have no real max on length of the shows I do but 6 to 7 hours might be were I would cut it off, unless its a wedding/reception combination.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Happy to perform in any setting Inside, outside, covered, uncovered. and of course weather permitting. I am happy to perform Covered Outside even with the possibility of weather but need to make sure my equipment does not get destroyed so would need some form of pop up tent, overhang, or other type of cover to play.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Of course you're the one booking me to come entertain you and your guests, so yes you have a very large say in what I sing, play for you. I usually start every show with my name, what genere's I generally sing, and the couple/few that I don't or can't, and that I welcome requests with the caveat that If I don't have it to be able to sing, don't know the song at all or well enough to competently sing it, that I will play it for the requester.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

I would say that the majority, 95-99% would say that they as well as their guests loved the show, had a great time, and would recommend me to anyone. I do the best I can and give 150% for every show I do however you can't please every single person or group so I am sure that a few out of the couple thousand shows I have done, since I started, propably said thank you and good job to my face but in all actuallity were not 100% happy with the show. To me hoesty is the best policy, if you don't like something or were not happy with the show tell me so that I can fix, adjust, get better/do better in the future. That's the only way people know that you were not happy with it.
