Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

I played in a band made up of top executives at a company I worked for at Epcot, opening for Foreigner. The audience was the entire management structure of this multi-billion dollar, national retailer

What's your favourite type of event?

I have a blast playing cocktail hours for weddings at a local wedding venue where I've worked for years. I'm not the typical type of entertainment for that, so people are often surprised that it's not a pianist or harpist or a string quartet. I help build up the guests' excitement for the party they're about to talk into next.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I've been performing as a one man band on Long Island since 1993. I'm a public school music teacher who has always been a performer. I've played in wedding bands, rock bands, duos, trios... you name it, I've done it. The most lasting gig has been my solo gig under the name Spinning In Infinity.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Long Island kid who plays piano... let's see... Billy Joel! Big influence, I'm a big fan, and when you're on LI everyone wats to hear it. Unless they don't, and they usually let me know. 😉

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I require no less than an hour prior to start time for setup. I typically play either 3 or 4 hours gigs. Breaks depend on the type of party and if there are traditions that would require me to play certian things at certain times. Whatever it is, I work with you to make sure it all happens smoothly.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Outside is fine as long as full cover for my entire setup is provided, regardless of the weather forecast. In colder weather, heating is required. A flat, paved surface is also a requirement - I cannot set up on grass or dirt.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I have a repertoire of nearly 300 songs spanning decades. I can accommodate a special request or two with plenty of advanced notice. Anything beyond that would have to be DJH, not played/sung.
