If you are considering booking Stephan DO IT! He is a true professional and extremely talented. Stephan was prompt with communication, let us know what to expect, and went above and beyond for our wedding. He surveyed in advance if we had any special requests; we asked if he would collaborate with our family member, who is a professional singer, to come up with a song for our first dance. They met and rehearsed ahead of time and preformed beautifully, and even had more songs as a surprise. Stephan has a wide repertoire and knows when to play slower songs and when to pick up the pace. We booked Stephan for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and partly into the reception. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again.

Stephan Kane played beautifully at our wedding in late September. But first things first: initial communication with Stephan was incredibly smooth. I sent him an email and his responses were always incredibly thorough and informative. After listening to some of his demos, my wife and I were sure he was the one.

I asked Stephan if he could please provide a custom arrangement for our first dance and he very professionally described what that process would entail. The results were amazing! The song he played for us was so perfect! My friends and family all asked about him and thought that his rendition of our favorite song (first dance) was very pretty.

After the first dance, Stephan played a very appropriate mix of songs from his repertoire. The wonderful thing about all the music he played the entire night was how perfect it was for whatever it was we were doing. When we were chatting, the music and volume were perfect. When we were eating, the music and volume was perfect. You get the picture. We could not have made a better choice. Stephan, your music at our wedding was a gift and you helped make our special day and evening one we will never forget! Thank you so much.

We found Stephan Kane through an internet search for wedding musicians. We wanted a solo guitarist to play classical music while guests were arriving, to provide the processional and recessional music for the ceremony, and to play more contemporary pieces during the cocktail hour. Stephan more than lived up to our expectations. He met with us over Zoom some weeks before the wedding, and was extremely helpful in explaining what he offers and in assisting us in compiling our list of pieces.

His playing was simply beautiful -- he created the perfect ambiance, and many of the guests complimented his musicianship. His playing brought tears to my eyes as I walked down the aisle. His rates are very competitive, and he even adapted a favorite song of ours, at no extra charge, to play during the recessional. His demeanor is professional and friendly, and he looked like he was having a great time playing for us. We would use him again in a heartbeat.

Planning a destination in Hawaii from California was such a breeze with vendors like Stephan. Stephan was so easy to work with and extremely profession. I found him on wedding wire and researched his website, where he provides a lists of songs that he can play which also includes audio samples. We corresponded via email a few times throughout the year in regards to song choices and timeline, and he was so quick to respond to emails - much appreciated! On the day of the wedding, Stephan arrived on time and came prepared with his own tent since it was an outdoor wedding. He even provided us with a microphone for our officiant to use since we had not planned for that!!! Even today people are still complimenting how beautiful the ceremony music was! You will not be disappointed booking Stephan!!!!

Working with Stephan was a dream come true. He is incredible talented and flexible in his repertoire, even learning several new songs just for our wedding. When I think back on our day, and how full of joy it was, I still think of Stephan and how he brought so much of that energy to our celebration with his music. Perfection

Stephan Kane was nothing but professional, responsive, kind, and helpful from the beginning. After listening to his music samples, I was hooked. After booking with him, my wedding had many changes due to Covid-19. Stephan was flexible, accommodating, and supportive through this whole process, delivering nothing but kindness. On my big day, he was early and efficient, and immediately began to play his guitar, while dressed sharply. He is immensely talented. I could not believe my ears! He transitioned flawlessly from song to song, playing exactly what I wanted (he has an extensive repertoire, even including Hawaiian music), and even learned a new song just for us. The guests raved about how phenomenal he was, and I am so glad I decided on Stephan Kane rather than a DJ. To say the least, his guitar added pure magic to my wedding. Stephan was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding! We chose him for his ability and willingness to learn a new song for us, but loved him for his responsiveness prior to our wedding. We didn’t talk at all day of, but he was ready to go and played beautifully. When the ceremony ended, we took photos in our church, and he played background music until his time was up. We initially talked to him because we liked his playing style and arrangements from the samples on his website. Stephan is a guitarist's guitarist who really cares about the craft. This is something that shows through in the music. It turns out he's also a good person and very easy to work with.

We hired Stephen to play acoustic guitar for our wedding ceremony at SF City Hall (8/29/19). In addition to being very kind, responsive, and professional — his talent is out of this world! His music really set the tune (pun intended) for the entire ceremony! He transformed a very public City Hall into what felt like our own little romantic world. Stephan was wonderful! Incredibly professional, prompt responses, friendly, and, of course, excellent music. I cannot recommend him highly enough! On the logistical side, he took a ton of stress out of the planning experience – his website was super informative, his email responses very quick, and on the day of the wedding everything went smoothly. He's also an incredibly versatile musician - we wanted a mix of Hawaiian, contemporary, and Spanish classical for our ceremony and cocktail hour, and he did exactly that! I can't recommend Stephan Kane highly enough. First of all, he is an incredibly talented musician - just check out some samples of his arrangements on his website and you will be convinced. I feel honored to have had someone this talented play at our wedding. Second, he is wonderful as a vendor. We contacted him only 5 weeks before the wedding, and even though he already had a commitment for the evening of the wedding day, he worked hard to find a way to be able to play at our wedding. He was flexible, responsive, very professional and, as a bonus, incredibly sweet. Everyone at our wedding who had the opportunity to interact with him had a very positive impression and everyone loved the music. Ladies, if you want a dreamy and romantic ambiance at your wedding with an affordable price tag and no hassle communication, look no further, Stephan is the musician for you! Initially, I was hesitant about spending money on live music and was just going to have a playlist for my daytime wedding at Halekulani because I was finding that most live musicians did not fit in my budget. However, I found Stephan online and was impressed by his affordable rates compared to other musicians. I booked Stephan for both my ceremony, and cocktail hour/reception (he has a special package for this) and I am so happy that I did! From the very beginning, it was such a pleasure working with Stephan. I sent him so many emails with questions and he always responded very promptly (within several hours) and politely. I had also requested a special song for my first dance, which I wanted to be accompanied by a family member for vocals and Stephan not only did this for free (including a practice session) but I was brought to tears by how beautiful the piece turned out! We actually didn't plan to have Stephan play at our wedding, but we feel so lucky to have gotten to make his acquaintance through another musician who we originally contacted. We had heard Paul Izak around town and really liked his music so we had originally contracted with him to play through our appetizers and then to ramp it up to the dancing time. Unfortunately ( actually fortunately :) ) Paul couldn't make it until after the appetizer so he introduced us to Stephan. Paul made the arrangement for Stephan to play classical guitar for our appetizers and then once Paul arrived and dinner/ dancing started they both turned up the amps and played some awesome homecooked Hawaiian style jams. So obviously Stephan is a very talented and diverse musician. We couldn't have been happier with the way things turned out.

Stephan's solo style was perfect for our appetizer time. We really liked his classical ( and very classy) take on songs that we know and like. Stephan and Paul made our event feel classy, organic and fun. I'd recommend him to anyone.

Stephan Kane's booking offered the option guitar duo with Luke Trimble. The service was very professional. Steve replied to all of my emails in a timely and kind manner. Being a former pianist myself, I know that some musicians can be touchy when clients give preferences or ask for certain music -- not the case at all with this wonderful guitar duo. From Steve's large repertoire listed on his website, I chose the majority of the songs for the hour of the ceremony. Songs not in his listed repertoire, Steve was very accommodating in arranging for us: I enjoyed what he did with my special request for Debussy - Clair de Lune. He was also kindly kept the time flexible so we could move the hour up and down by ~15 minutes while we confirmed last minute details with the venue and other wedding vendors.
BOTTOM LINE:
Steve is a well organized, great musician who was a joy to work with for my wedding. His services (and the option to book him as a duo with Luke) are high quality and were a worthwhile investment. We were lucky to have found him. And I recommend to book him while he's still available for your event!

When we were looking for a musician to play at our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour, we really wanted to have someone who not only had an amazing sound, but who would be willing to personalize our song selection. We can't say enough about Stephan, he is an extremely talented classical guitarist, very professional and he really went above and beyond! Stephan is an incredibly talented musician, and charming young man. I completely trusted him to make my daughter’s wedding ceremony exactly what she wanted – very unique and special. I gave him a list of some special songs and a general idea, and he magically made it happen. These were all pieces that were completely non-traditional that he had to acquire and learn! I cannot express to you how amazingly perfect his performance was; timing, skill, intuition, and beauty.

I found Stephan Kane on Gig Salad while browsing for our Wedding Musician. I was looking for someone affordable, reputable, personable, a little rustic, and talented (of course!) - Stephan was all of those things! I was a little wary of hiring someone on Gig Salad without meeting them first so I asked Stephan to meet my fiancé and I at Starbucks.

The meeting went great! He answered tons of questions, made me feel at ease, and showed us samples of his music. It was a no brainer, we HAD to have him at our wedding! Stephan is also very flexible with his music. He gave us a list of songs he normally plays but also said if there was a song we absolutely loved, he would learn it! I thought that was such a generous offer! We ended up sticking with selections from the list he gave us and I was very specific: this song for the bridesmaids, this song for me down the aisle, this for the kiss, this for the walk out..etc.

On the day of the wedding everyone was late due to unexpected traffic (and he was very apologetic afterwards) but all that mattered to me was that he was there before me and he was so no worries Stephan! We started the ceremony about 45 minutes late due to the traffic and Stephan was nice enough not to charge me for the delay.

The ceremony went great. He played everything beautifully and followed my specific instructions. We received tons of compliments about him afterwards! I highly recommend Stephan for your musical needs! Our day wouldn't have been complete without him!

Amazing
Stephan is so awesome. He was helpful in establishing the set list for our wedding-- I am not the kind of bride who had this all planned out in advance (no wedding book, no bride dream list, nothing), so his prompting enabled me to put it all together. We were of course stressed to the max and running late on the big Wedding Day, but he was able to collaborate with the groom to get everything set up and ready for the ceremony. Not only is he friendly, approachable, and professional, Stephan is such a talented musician and his acoustic guitar playing really made our moment on the beach what it should be: magical! We even invited him to our rehearsal dinner!

I'm not sure if there are many events that receive such detailed planning attention as do weddings. When my son and future daughter in law asked me if I could find a classical guitarist for their mid-summer outdoor wedding, I was thrilled to be assigned a specific role and to help. Stephan Kane came to us with strong recommendation. He exceeded our expectations from the first moment. At the bride's special request, Stephan was asked to play "La Valse d'Amelie" for the processional. I had heard the piece previously arranged for piano and for orchestra but never for guitar. Stephan created an arrangement for guitar especially for the event. Given that the event was outdoors and the procession stretched a goodly distance, timing the processional was part of the challenge. Stephan did that beautifully. Additionally, he provided lovely selections of his choosing as the guests assembled, appropriate amplification equipment, and executed both set up and break down of his equipment expeditiously and discretely. Stephan was politely responsive to my emails, communicated well and completely, and did for us everything that was expected and more. To me and to many, live music enhances any event. Stephan played at my wedding, and did such an amazing job! It rained almost the entire time at the outdoor wedding, but he was very flexible with all of the changing plans, and did a great job to make things special. Stephan's arrangements are very well written and performed, and he put in a lot of effort to make sure that he played the songs we asked him, and went above and beyond to work with one of our friends that sang for our first dance. Stephan was such a wonderful performer at our small and intimate ceremony at The Palace of Fine Arts. From the get go, he was super responsive via email- I was shocked with how fast he would respond to my queries! It only took a few emails to secure his performance time and date. I hired Stephan pretty last minute to play at my wedding ceremony and during my cocktail hour after a family member bailed. I saw some videos of him on the Internet, and I pretty much knew at that moment that he would be perfect.

He was kind enough to learn a song that he did not know because I was walking down the aisle to that song (Storybook Love from the Princess Bride). He did this for no charge. What an awesome and thoughtful gift! It is not often that a musician offers to do something like that. One vendor I had contacted after thinking Stephan might not be available actually told me that the song would be too difficult for him to learn. Lucky for me, everything worked out with Stephan's schedule.

I recently watched my wedding video, and it occurred to me that I never talked to Stephan at my wedding to thank him for doing such a wonderful job. He played so beautifully, and the photographs of him playing at my wedding show just how passionate he is about music; it's visibly apparent.

We used Stephan as the ceremony and cocktail hour musician at our wedding in September 2019. Our wedding venue didn't allow any outdoor amplified music, so we needed to find a musician to play at our wedding. I looked at various violinists, harpists, and guitarists, but once I heard Stephan's music, I knew I wanted him at our wedding. He was professional, quick to respond to emails, and his pricing was very reasonable. He worked with the amplified noise restriction and his music ended up being a wonderful addition to our ceremony and cocktail hour. BEST I COULD HAVE HOPED FOR! Professional, talented, responsive genuine. I sent a very last minute request (2 days before our ceremony) since we forgot to choose a song for our officiant as he walked down the aisle and Stephan came the rescue and learned Waiting in Vain (officiant's favorite) in literally less than a day. AND he did it out of the goodness of his heart. You can tell Stephan is someone who wants his clients to have the day as they imagined and will go OUT OF HIS WAY to make it happen. His music is beautiful and set the perfect mood for our ceremony. I love contemporary songs played acoustically and his repertoire is very extensive. I regret forgetting to take a picture to capture this! To all those who are smart enough to have Stephan play at your wedding or event, be smarter than me - remember to take a photo!!

Stephan was such an amazing Guitarist for my wedding reception (cocktail hour and dinner)!! I had an outdoor wedding reception at a restaurant with 37 people. Despite the many changes that went on with the COVID pandemic, Stephan was super flexible and open to anything. I really like his guitar playing style, which is a mixture of contemporary and Hawaiian.

He was very decently priced. I also feel that this is a minor detail, but his contract was super easy to navigate lol.

On another note, my family threw me a small wedding shower with immediate family during shelters in place. My aunt had hired him to play guitar via Zoom, which turned out very nicely!!

We decided to do entirely Beatles songs for our ceremony and cocktail hour. Stephan even offered to learn two new Beatles songs outside of his repertoire specifically for our wedding for a small fee. He really went above and beyond to make sure the music was exactly what we wanted!

During the ceremony, I will never forget walking down the aisle to "In My Life" and hearing the beautiful strumming of his guitar. Stephan played at our wedding recently and was a wonderful vendor: professional, friendly, and the music itself was lovely. He was very flexible about the un-forecasted rain at our outdoor ceremony too! In searching for vendors I ran into a few homophobic musicians/other vendors, but Stephan wasn't fazed by a LGBT wedding at all. I highly recommend Stephan for any wedding!
