T2D2 Toys brings a DIY toy-making workshop to your party! Using recycled materials, we guide your guests in creating custom collectible action figures complete with packaging. We provide all materials and tools and can tailor the experience for any age, any demographic, any theme. As professional artists, teachers, and props designers, you can be confident that we can take anyone from zero to (super)hero, no matter their experience or skill level!
With our unique hands-on workshop, guests will have the chance to create their own custom collectible action figure from recycled toys, complete with a hand-drawn or collaged-from-comic-books backercard and repurposed plastic blister pack-style packaging that'll they'll take home and be able to display on one of our laser cut cardboard stands. We provide all tools, materials, and guidance necessary to bring anyone's artistic toy vision to life! We've run hands-on workshops for individuals at the library up to an entire comic convention floor of an audience of 90 people. Regardless of scale, you'll get direction and materials suitable for any age or skill-level.

We've done backyard birthdays and professional comic-con stages with screens and cordless microphones; talk to us about your set up and we'll help maximize it for the workshop. We'll need at least one long table for our tools and materials set up. You're welcome to give guests what ever workspace you'd like, but we suggest that each guest has their own clear surface for assembly, drawing, and collaging.
We will need directions for load-in, parking, drinking water access, and bathrooms.
We typically don't require a sound system and rely on house lights, but are happy to bring a Bluetooth speaker if you'd like music!
Yes, we can play music from Spotify or YouTube Music before, after, even during our workshops and can discuss theme and requests.
We had an absolute blast running three days of workshops for Chicago's Comic Convention, C2E2 this year! We were only sad about the folks we had to turn away every day because they only booked us for 45 seats with 45 accompanying parents!

Over the last year, we've hosted events and done custom toy drops at comic conventions like GenCon, C2E2, CapriCon, Gamer's Universe, and Dragon*Con; partnered with the Chicago Public Library; and this weekend, will be at a Women's Wellness Summit to do the workshop as sort of an art therapy moment: having attendees make themselves as heros; something they're manifesting like an action figure vision board; or whatever troubles they're facing as a villain.
