Tazio Forte, a classically trained pianist and accordionist passionate about jazz-manouche and traditional South American music, in 2017 meets the two guitarists Francesco Greppi and Tobia Davico with whom a musical partnership marked by the search for a new repertoire and new sounds was born. Since 2022 together with Davide Ritelli, a double bass player of vast experience especially in the sphere of Balkan music, the musical project “Tazio Forte Quartet” was born, which has its roots in the typical jazz-manouche sounds, but which gathers and embraces different influences - from the traditional musics of the four corners of the world as well as from modern jazz. The constant work of research and renewal in the choice of repertoire is the key to give a wider scope to improvisational exploration, on the border between tradition and avant-garde.

One of the best experiences we had with TFQ was playing at the Pennabilli Django Festival 2024, alongside internationally renowned musicians.
We love playing at all sorts of events but weddings are our favourite! The guests are always happy and it’s easy to get them dancing
We started gigging whilst at university and our performances developed from there. Since we started we’ve performed at hundreds of weddings, parties and events across the UK and beyond
The group was undoubtedly born out of a shared passion for Django Reinhardt, but it doesn't stop there. The double bass player loves and plays different Balkan music, cumbia, and choro, as does the accordionist, who also comes from a classical background.
We normally arrive 1 hours before the performance to set up. We normally perform 2 x 45 minutes or 2 x 60 minute sets. We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best.
We’re happy to play outside but we ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area
We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually limit this to 5 songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them
Previous customers would describe us as a high energy group that loves to get the audience on their feet dancing
