About / Biography

The Dilemma is a multi-regional, Rock-Party Fusion band currently rated the #1 cover band on The Bash with a 5-star rating. We have a large following with over 18,000 likes and followers on Facebook. We mix audience favorites with contemporary and classic music, creating a dynamic and exciting performance. We have played and been featured in some of the most famous venues on the East Coast . Some of the most recognizable venues we play and have been featured at are The Matterhorn in Stowe Vermont, Toads Place New Haven, The Bitter End, Greenwich Village, Wall Street Theater Norwalk, CT, City Winery on the Greenway Boston, Watkins Glenn International, New York, and the Hard Rock Cafe Foxwoods to name a few. We have been the featured band at Lake Compounce Amusement Park for their Bites and Beer celebration multiple times. We have also headlined at Six Flags Amusement Parks 8 separate shows. Our band members all have a background that started off with a love for Rock, blues, funk, soul, folk, indie, new wave, and world music, which allows us to be a great choice for corporate events, College functions and many other themed parties including many weddings (at locations like the Peabody Museum Dinosaur Hall in New Haven, CT and The Eisenhower House in Newport Rhode Island). We have played numerous private parties up and down the East Coast including The Bikes and Beers tour. Let us know if we can help provide you with any other information to help you with your decision.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

-Saturday night opening weekend of The "Big E" (Eastern States Exhibition, West Springfield, MA) fall of 2023 .
-The past 3 seasons of the "Bikes and Beers" Tour as the house band for the after-ride parties has lead us to playing some awesome breweries across the country.

What's your favourite type of event?

We love large gatherings that have people who want to hear great music. We love parties, festivals, corporate events.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

Corey Rieman has been playing music professionally for 13 years as of 2024. The Dilemma Band has been touring together since 2019.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

David Bowie is the guy that got me through high school. His willingness to try different things musically, esthetically, and sonically opened the doors to a million different things. That being said, "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys is my personally favorite song of all time. Finally, Warren Zevon should be in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, and has belonged there for 29 years as of now.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We normally arrive 2 hours before the performance to set up. We normally perform 2 x 1.5 hr sets. We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best.

Are you happy to perform outside?

We’re happy to play outside but we ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually limit this to 5 songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

With many booking services, we have top rated status and have never gotten a bad review. Here's one from 10/29/2023:
"Band arrived early for set up, all members were very personable and friendly, music variety was great, loud enough to be enjoyable, quiet enough to still carry on a conversation without screaming to each other , the attendees stated several times how wonderful they thought the band was and expressed their desire to have them return in the future. Overall a great experience and would definitely have them back again!"

How long is your standard performance?

Our standard pricing is designed around a 4-piece band, offering a 3-hour performance and covering travel up to 100 miles. For any additional requirements or locations outside of this range, we are happy to create a customized package tailored to your event. For overnight or long-distance engagements, please note that travel accommodations and food per diem are billed separately. Additionally, we offer specialized wedding service bundles to ensure your big day is truly special. Let's collaborate to make your event extraordinary!
