Reviews of The Distance

Soph & Matt played for our wedding in September and were absolutely fantastic! Not only did they include songs we had requested for the playlist but knew how to play perfectly for the crowd. All guests loved them, from our 5 year old cousins and friends in their twenties to parents and my 80 year old nan-in-law. The dance floor was never empty - I can testify that all dancers never stopped moving. I want to thank Soph & Matt for making our wedding reception, it was truly amazing and guests are still talking about them nearly 5 months on. An awesome wedding band!

I still cannot believe we met The Distance at Janine's party and that they were able to make Fran’s 60th Birthday celebrations last Saturday 10 May 2014 & made his dream of having live music at his party come true. Matt & Sophiee, you were so accommodating and fitted perfectly into our home. All our 80+ guests of family & friends of all ages loved your music and danced the night away. We cannot wait to see you again & Fran is already planning our next party! Fran & Fay xxxx

The distance played at my 40th birthday party, they were amazing. Wished they could have stayed longer than the afternoon. Everyone thought they were out of this world!

I'm a bit late writing this review but me and my wife had The Distance for our wedding on the 4th April, they were absolutely fantastic such a good band got everyone up and dancing. They were able to cover a wide range of songs there is something for everyone. Our 1st dance song the killers Mr brightside one word wow, prefer the distance accoustic version over the original if you need a band then book the distance you will not be disappointed.

You guys were fantastic ..and will always be No.1 in the charts to us...and as you can see you have gained a lot more fans...we really appreciate you stepping in like that...reading the room so well and catering for everyone tastes...we hope we get the chance to see you both again...love Frank & Angela..x..x

Tom & I honestly can't thank you enough for playing at our wedding - Your renditions of 'How long will I love you' and 'Thinking out loud' were so perfect, we couldn't have asked for a more intimate ceremony. Our guests are still commenting on how talented you both are! Played ALL of our favourite songs, and even got my father up for a boogie (A hard task, let me tell you!!). (Oh, and the video you put together for us of the reception was so thoughtful :D) Thank you so much!

We can't thank 'The Distance' enough!! From day 1 they were superb in everything they have done for our special day. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they are still helping us now!! More than anything though, these guys can seriously play :) every single person at our wedding was on the dance floor and that was priceless. Thanks again Sophie and Matt :)

We booked the distance for several shows at Shaw Hill golf and spa hotel for Christmas 2015. What a fantastic group! The guests loved them the energy was amazing and songs out of this world they obviously spent time putting together a solid song to ensure a wide ranging audience was kept entertained. We look forward to welcoming them back again sometime. Michelle

The Distance literally blew my mind. 2 extremely talented people playing live music you would normally need 12 members to perform live. Not only are they amazing musicians, wait till you hear their vocal talents! Absolutely amazing! Highly recommended :)

I booked Soph and Mat for our wedding to play our pre-ceremony, ceremony, drinks reception and first dance after seeing some of their videos on their website. And by god was that a masterstroke decision as we and all our guests were absolutely blown away by them. The music really sets the tone and atmosphere of the wedding. Our guests were raving about them all day and they sang our chosen songs just how I imagined they would. Fantastic, professional from the start and we didn’t have to worry about a thing on the day as Soph and Mat did their thing. I would book them again in a heartbeat. The Distance played at our companies 10th anniversary event. We absolutely loved them and have had comments from both staff and clients since the event. They really made our night unique. They were professional, kept in contact (we even booked them at really short notice and they were so SO helpful!), and honestly just made the night special. Fantastic at their craft, the loveliest and most down to earth people, worked around speeches etc. Highly recommend! Thanks Soph and Mat!
