First and foremost, Ron Guttman considers himself an entertainer. For over 35 years he has delighted audiences in cities across Canada and beyond, and he is widely regarded as one of Toronto’s top family entertainers. His signature family show, Shenanigans, is a high-energy, all-ages experience that plays at every level at once, so pre-schoolers, school-age kids, parents and grandparents all feel like they’re watching their own show. With up to twenty volunteers on stage, everyone gets involved.
But that’s not all. Before becoming a full-time performer, Ron spent 35 years in the corporate world as a software engineer, consultant and trainer, so he speaks your language. For business events, retreats and banquets, his Mental Blocks and Symphony of the Mind programs offer sophisticated, thought-provoking entertainment where the audience becomes the show. For grownup parties and retirement communities, Tricky Bits delivers clean, fun, classic magic. And with Mingle Magic, Ron brings close-up magic directly to your guests, table to table, at cocktail hours and receptions.

Ron is based in Thornhill, Ontario, and has performed from Fort Frances to Montreal and from Nunavut to Manitoulin Island. Have show, will travel. A travel surcharge applies outside the GTA.

For intimate gatherings, such as apartments, homes, only minimal space is required. For larger venues and audiences, a minimum stage space of 12x16 feet. If stage is elevated, access stairs on both sides. Only one 15 amp outlet is required.

IN my short bio I said, "Veteran family & corporate magician". I've been performing as a magician for over 36 years, but have done sketch comedy and music long before that!
Most magicians offer one show. I offer five, matched to your audience: families, grownups, seniors, corporate groups and cocktail receptions. After 35 years in the corporate world and 35+ years performing, I speak your language, play to every age at once, and get everyone involved.
Set-up time ranges from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the venue and performance conditions. Shows are typically one hour but for some events with audience turnover, eg, festivals, fairs, shopping malls, I will perform multiple 30- or 45-minute sets.
Yes, conditions permitting, but ask for a flat, level surface and access to power close to the performing area.
Clients most often say my shows are engaging. Everyone gets involved, from preschoolers to grandparents and from skeptical executives to retirement residents. They also say I’m professional, easy to work with and funny, and that the magic leaves people saying, “I have no idea how he did that!” Many tell me it’s not their same old magic show, and that they’d happily book me again.
