Review from Tim Stuart - official accompanist of The International Music Festival in Llangollen.

"It's been a privilege working with Urszula. She brings her expertise and musicality to bear on a huge variety of music: solo cello, classics from the romantic repertoire, cello concertos, 'crossover', classical favourites and even Richard Rogers! Her music has been enjoyed by all her audiences, and we hope she will be staying in North Wales for a long time.

Tomek’s (Electrobanq) comment, placed on the Ursula’s profile: “I love such music. While listening to these cello presentations my pulse goes up and my pupils get bigger. You can listen to them endlessly….

Ursula is a real Master’s apprentice. She can bring out a beautiful timbre from her instrument. I think that Master can be really proud of her. I was very happy that she found courage inside to present herself on Muzzo. I was really impressed by her interpretation of the Kodaly Sonata. The sense of timbre, the ability to use dynamics and excellent pace made this difficult piece unusually fresh in reception. In view of the fact that I had a chance to hear Ursula live I can confirm that the recording presented on Muzzo is not a coincidence (to be precise I heard her before she put her productions on Muzzo and I didn’t have the pleasure to talk to her). True music does not know divisions. If she finds a place among our favourites I will be very glad.

Sound of cello. Congratulations on the choice and on the perseverance that give such effect. What can I, Poor Beetle, can say about what I am hearing here. I can just stand up and clap my hands when the right time comes, and to give flowers. I also congratulate you on the success which is already the sole possibility to perform solo pieces before the audience and I wish you as much as it may for you to be given the position of a solo performer. It was mostly pleasant for me to listen to your repertuar here. When it comes to Beethoven, Andrzej, [a reference to a previous comment] has “Ode to Joy” become tasteless for what was done to it??? More horrendous things were done to “For Elisa” – all the postcards and musical toys. Good they have calmed down and stopped the such banging away with “Moonlight Sonata.”

Once again bravo Ursula the cellist for exposing these sounds.

All the best,

Darek”

comments from May 2009 (Muzzo: Magic cello)

“I’ve been there, I was caught out of breath. Why should I scribble. I can only add a copy of a comment

We have another dimension of Muzzo here. Masterpieces in an untouched classic form for the lovers of this music. And I am totally in for dragging Ursula to the List of Favourites. When I hear such sounds, simply my eyes shut and I am no longer present in the normal world, that’s how the sounds of classical and baroque music affect me. A whole another dimension without redundant words, only vision

Urszula chose a wide-ranging programme to perform with me in concert at Holywell, North Wales and performed stylishly throughout with great attention to detail. As an ensemble cellist, she is very reliable and was sensitive to what was going on around her. A great pleasure to work with.

"I was very lucky to take lessons with Ursula and to listen to her in concert. She is a strong performer, with a very beautiful and crisp sound. As a teacher, Ursula gives you very clear instructions that cover a lot of cello techniques, so you can progress very easily as a learner. Ursula is the best cello teacher I ever had. I am looking forward to her concerts!"

I have had the pleasure of hearing Urszula play at two concerts. The first was a Charity concert at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Flint and the second at a Memorial concert held in Frodsham for the late Eva Warren where she was accompanied by Raewyn Bailey. Both recitals were absolutely superb.
Urszula is not only a very accomplished cellist she is a true professional with an engaging personality. She has the ability to create the most amazing sound and her interpretation of the music through her instrument is flawless.
I am looking forward to hearing her perform again."

I first heard Urszula playing as a soloist in concert and was awestruck by her faultless execution and expression. Urszula is an outstanding cellist and as a teacher she has an approachable and warm personality, encouraging students to believe in their potential and teaching them techniques to make substantial progress. In my first lesson she de-constructed my bow hold and gave me exercises to develop a more natural position. Urszula is now teaching me techniques to improve tone before I tackle harder pieces. I highly recommend studying with her, whichever level you may be.

We were very pleased at the fairly modest ‘turn out’ of our countryside neighbours from a number of surrounding villages who had responded to our invitation to what was quite a new venture for us at the friary church. We judged this fund raising event for the church renovation fund to be a very worthwhile one.
Not only that, but thanks to the wonderful expertise of the two artistes, Urszula Krukowska-Byzdra and Tim Stuart, we were treated to a veritable musical feast, comprising works from well known composers such as J.S. Bach, Faure, Vivaldi, and Jenkins.
I experienced a magnificent performance by Ursula our local talented cellist, for the very first time, leaving me very impressed indeed.
I was pleasantly astonished too by and marvelled at Tim’s ‘magical touch’ on our (ancient) organ which suddenly took on a whole new exciting life of its own.
A big ‘thank you’ then to our artistes and to those who supported our new venture.

Concert in St.John's the Baptist Church Chester:
"Dear Urszula Thank you very much for a lovely performance of the Dvorak. It is a gorgeous cello concerto and I did so enjoy it. I thought you played it extremely well, very poetic especially in those bars towards the end of the last movement. So glad that Dvorak did not allow his cello mentor to put a cadenza here!"
Best wishes Alan Lees Conductor.

On behalf of us all in Live Music Showcase thank you so much for your recital on Thursday as we launched the Autumn series of lunchtime concerts. The audience response said it all… it was a wonderful and varied programme of music brought to a brilliant close with your rendition of ‘The Swan’ from The Carnival of the Animals. Such graceful beauty in music. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

When I was listening to your magnificent playing I was literally blown away! You have a quite rare ability to decode the music of different styles so deeply, going right to its core!
