"We booked A2 Barn Dance Band for our wedding and were very glad we did. We all had a great time muddling our way through lots of different dances, and the band did a great job keeping us all heading in the right direction. Having just a small venue meant we needed a band that was flexible and able to work around the limited space. A2 Barn Dance Band did a super job, set up in no time, and had us all up and dancing before we knew it! Thanks again for helping to make our day so special." "

"Blag played for our office Christmas party and were brilliant. Their music was great and the caller was very charismatic getting everyone involved in the dancing. They were really easy to book and very flexible and accommodating with our requirements. We had great feedback from everyone at the party and I'd really recommend this lovely, friendly band."

Crisp and immaculate, sharp and regal in their bearing, their presence at my family’s celebration of our uncles 100th birthday brought the emotions of the occasion to an entirely unmatched level. "There’s a local connection to this marvellous presentation of Andalusian culture. Daniel Martinez studied flamenco guitar from the age of seven in his native Cordoba and played in the city’s tablaos before moving to the UK in 2015 and establishing his guitar school in Edinburgh. His flamenco troupe has two Scottish guitarists and one of this production’s pieces expresses the happiness Martinez has found in Scotland but the music and movement are undiluted Andalusia. The venue even obliged with Andalusian temperatures, making dancer Gabriela Pouso’s intense and astonishingly precise footwork all the more admirable. There’s music in Pouso’s feet and her close coordination with Martinez’ brilliantly nimble and massively colourful musicianship would have been worth the ticket price alone. That, though, would have robbed us of the fantastically expressive singing and the violinist's superb articulation with his bow. The concert began quietly, with Martinez playing alone, soulfully evoking a calm before the storm. And what a storm: three guitars in intricate partnership, violin and voices soaring as the singers added typically urgent and musical hand clapping and Pouso embodying the music’s vibrant physical presence. Bravo indeed."

"Victor is an excellent performer of the highest standard. I had the pleasure of working with Victor at a few events in Sydney, where he sang and played the bandura. Victor is a master of his instrument as well as his voice, which he projects with incredible ease across the room without losing the ability to add many subtle colourings and nuances to highlight certain parts of the song for a greater effect on the audience. The bandura in his hands also sings, its most complex repertoire under complete command of the player, delivering a unique experience to those lucky to attend Victor’s performances. Apart from being an accomplished musician, Victor is a true scholar of his craft, having spent years researching the history and performance practice of the bandura and its players. Victor has been a key personality in the revival of this traditional instrument, without whose work it would be impossible to resurrect both the instrument and its repertoire for further use and development in modern times. Armed with his knowledge, Victor is always ready to share it and his performances can also feature fascinating tales on the bandura history and the culture of the people who played and continue to play it, delivered with both humour and his very evident love for the subject. "
