"Kenny Kirby [2021] - Playin' The Cracks (Selected Tracks) [Philly Fillet Records]
I came across this artist via DJ Melismo's (aka Mats Olofsson) latest podcast in which he played "Someday We'll All Be Free" (and what a version!), so decided to check out the rest of the album
Kenny Kirby's name may not be well known but he has been performing for over forty years with top acts such as Van Morrison, Charlie Grace, Sly & The Family Stone, Delfonics, Three Degrees, Major Harris, Billy Paul, Intruders, Blue Notes, Soul Survivors and was conductor for The Tymes.
He is a piano player from Birmingham, AL, and released, what looks like, his debut album "Playin' The Cracks" in April. It is mainly covers, smooth jazz, some instrumentals and some quite MOR tunes, but three tracks did get my attention. I'm fairly sure it's not Kenny singing as some of the vocals are female. No one else is credited on the album, so I'm guessing they are unnamed guest vocalists on the vocal tracks.
The three tracks are a cover of Donny Hathaway's "Someday We'll All Be Free", "Some Things Never Change" and "Ultimate Lover" a song written by Linda Creed and Dennis Matkosky."

Paris Gibbs Duo
"I would enthusiastically recommend them for any of your live music needs, from a small front porch acoustic show (such as mine) to playing a professional event in a formal venue; I am sure that they will not disappoint! Thank you guys so much for helping make my 14th wedding anniversary special for my wife even though I was not able to be there."
Brazil Flavor Music
"Perfect.
Brazil Flavor Music was exactly what we needed for our event. The duo catered their music and brought the perfect vibe to our reception. In regards to booking, they stayed communicating with me, keeping me updated on any changes. They are very friendly, kind, and humble, and you can tell they love what they do. Musically, they are incredibly talented. Several attendees came to us during our event to compliment the music selection for the afternoon. Lastly, our event was 3.5 hours away from them, yet they willingly drove, arrived early/on time, set up, and were ready to go as soon as the doors opened. We will definitely be hiring them again in the future and we recommend them for sure. Thank you again, Brazil Flavor Music!
